A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in the Hawera Road District, Provincial District of Taranaki: And whereas the Hawera Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities in him vested by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres, being portion of Section No. 7, Block XI.; commencing at a point 2869 links distant from the southern boundary of said section. Bounded—Generally Northerly by lines, 579, 555, and 907 links respectively; North-westerly by lines, 360, 330, 204, and 578 links respectively; South-easterly by lines, 269, 302, 198, 324, and 395 links respectively; generally Southerly by lines, 67, 943, 523, and 568 links respectively; Westerly by a public road to commencing point, 100 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 21 perches, being portion of Section No. 9, Block XII.; commencing on the eastern boundary of road at its intersection with the Otoki Stream. Bounded—Westerly by said road, 120 links; North-easterly by a line, 184 links; South-easterly by a line, 95 links; South-westerly by the Otoki Stream to commencing point.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 6 acres, being portion of Section No. 10, Block XII.; commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of old road at its intersection with the Otoki Stream. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 7 acres, being portion of Section No. 9, Block XII.; commencing at a point on the northern boundary of a road 46 links distant from its intersection with the road on the north-eastern bank of the Otoki Stream. Bounded—Gene-
rally South-easterly and Southerly by lines, 265, 389, 455, 226, 155, 243, 790, 346, 200, 400, 345, 323, 182, 242, 203, 235, 454, 141, and 300 links respectively; generally North-easterly by lines and a stream to commencing point, 391, 324, and 194 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres, being portion of Section No. 29, Block XII.; commencing at the easternmost corner of Section No. 27. Bounded—South-easterly by a road, 100 links; North-easterly by lines, 1534 and 685 links; South-easterly by a line, 1696 links; Easterly by a road, 110 links; North-westerly by a line, 1836 links; Westerly by a line, 806 links; South-westerly by the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 27 aforesaid to commencing point, 1565 links.
Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less; the several parcels of land being situate in the Hawera Survey District, Provincial District of Taranaki; and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 11346, attached to the memorial above referred to.
Given under the hand of the Honourable George Marsden Waterhouse, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 8 perches, being portion of Section No. 90, Patutahi Survey District; commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of said section 700 links distant from its south-western angle. Bounded—Generally North-westerly by lines, 1242 and 155 links respectively; South-easterly by a line, 1361 links; South-westerly by a line, 100 links, to commencing point.
Section No. 61.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 9 perches, being portion of Section No. 61, Waimata Survey District; commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of said section 1059 links distant from the Waipara River. Bounded—North-easterly by lines, 263, 319, 132, and 179 links respectively; Westerly by a line, 75 links; South-westerly by lines, 261, 315, and 205 links respectively; South-easterly by a line, 110 links, to commencing point.
