NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of the persons constituting the firm of B. PARKES AND SONS, trading as Manufacturers of Fenders, Fire-irons, and other Metal Wares, at Woodsetton Works, near Dudley, in the County of Worcester, in England, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz. :

The device of a castle in combination with the letters “W. W.” underneath it, thus :—

MACINTOSH AND COMPANY, trading as Indiarubber Manufacturers, at Cambridge Street, in the City of Manchester, in England, and also at 19, St. Bride Street, in the City of London, in England aforesaid, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz. :

Description of Trade Mark.

A cock standing on one leg upon a hand, the whole being enclosed within a double-line horseshoe-shaped border. Between the lines, at the top, is the name “Chas. Macintosh & Co.”; on the left are the words “India Rubber;” and on the right is the word “Manufacturers.” Beneath the cock, and reaching from one end to the other of the horseshoe-shaped border, is a ribbon, under which is the word and figures “Established 1824,” thus :—

Rubber valves and springs, being parts of machinery; hospital and surgical articles, diving dresses, &c., pontoons, camp equipage, &c., boats, mats, garments and articles of dress, elastic bands and stationers’ articles; miscellaneous articles of indiarubber, such as indiarubber thread and air-proof cushions, tobacco-pouches, umbrella-rings, ground sheets, &c., fishing and sporting articles and playing balls, hose tubing and packing.
