Nelson, Moate, and Co. In the spaces between the figures are the words “Gold & Silver Medals.” On the obverse side of the medals is a female figure holding a wreath in her outstretched right hand, while her left rests upon a chest; in the distance is a palm-tree. On the reverse side are the words “Awarded to Nelson, Moate, & Co.”

No. 8. A label, of rectangular oblong shape, with white ground, to be applied to packages of various sizes. At the top, between two parallel horizontal lines, are the words “Wholesale & Retail Tea Merchants.” At the bottom, also between two parallel horizontal lines, are the words “Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, & Auckland.” In the central portion of the label is a semicircle, having for its diameter the top line of the two parallel lines last before mentioned. Within the semicircle are the special and distinctive words “Rajah Blend.” Between the circumference of the semicircle and the bottom line of the two parallel lines first before mentioned, and extending from left to right, are the words “Nelson, Moate, & Co,” the first letter, “N,” being in large type with floral ornamentation. The device of a squirrel above a ribbon, bearing the motto “Honeste Vivo.” Beneath the ribbon and within a diamond-shaped outline are the words “La Qualité est Toujours La Même.” In the top corner of the diamond is the letter “J,” in the bottom corner is the letter “M,” in the left-hand corner is the letter “H,” and in the right-hand corner is the letter “Y,” thus :—
