THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Department of Ports and Harbours, Melbourne, is published for general information.

GEELONG LIGHTSHIP.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners dated the 15th January, 1884, pilots, masters of vessels, and others are hereby informed that the temporary lightship therein mentioned will be removed on the 26th May instant; and on and after that date the lightship originally thereat will be re-moored in position.

TIMARU HARBOUR.

Wellington, N.Z., 23rd June, 1884.
THE Timaru Harbour Board have given notice that a wreck buoy, painted green, with the word “Wreck” in white letters, has been placed over the remains of the wreck of the ship “Duke of Sutherland” in Timaru Harbour, which at present forms an obstruction of 8 feet from the bottom in 18 feet at low water, the lighthouse showing a sector of white light bearing from the wreck S. ½ W. (magnetic), distant half a mile.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Portmaster, Brisbane, is published for general information.

DISCONTINUANCE OF LIGHT AT LIGHTSHIP, BRISBANE BAR, AND EXHIBITION OF LIGHT AND TIDAL SIGNALS FROM PILE LIGHTHOUSE.
In pursuance of a notice issued from this office on the 21st ultimo, relative to the discontinuance of the light at the lightship at the Brisbane Bar, and the exhibition of the light and tidal signals from the Pile Lighthouse, notice is hereby given that the new lights were accordingly exhibited on the 31st ultimo.
The height of the main light is 44 feet above high water, and it is visible from a distance of twelve miles.

Notice under “Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”
I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883,” give notice that on the 19th day of June, 1884, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 29th day of July, 1884.

NAME by which land is known: Wairore No. 4. Native Land Court District wherein situate: Poverty Bay. Area: 4 acres 1 rood 7 perches.
