And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to declare the said road to be a county road:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section eighty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” doth hereby declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall become, and the same is hereby declared to be, a county road, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
A ROAD-LINE 150 links wide and about 34 miles in length, extending between the Paringa River and the Haast Beach; as delineated on the maps in the Survey Office at Hokitika.

Fixing Sitings of District Court of Waikato and Thames.

WHEREAS by “The District Courts Act, 1858,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, from time to time, by notification in the New Zealand Gazette, to fix the times and places within the district at which every District Court shall be held:
And whereas by “The District Courts Act Amendment Act, 1865,” it is enacted that, as to the times of holding such Courts, it shall be sufficient for the Governor, if he shall so think fit, to fix the interval only within which such Courts shall be held at each place, and it shall in such case be lawful for the Judge of such Court to fix the particular times and days for the holding of such Courts, and from time to time to alter the same, provided that such time and day shall fall within the interval so fixed by the Governor:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the said power and authority, fix that sittings of the District Court of Waikato and Thames shall be held in the Courthouse, Hamilton, at intervals of not less than fifty days nor more than seventy days between the first day of each sitting of such Court; and in the Courthouse, Thames, on the first Tuesday in every month.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Fixing Shooting Season for Deer, License Fee, &c., Nelson District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that deer (bucks, or stags only) may be taken or killed within the Nelson District, consisting of the Counties of Waimea, Buller, and Collingwood, from the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Nelson is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants may be taken or killed within the Grey District, consisting of the County of Grey, from the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Greymouth is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.

Inspector HENRY OLDHAM to be an Inspector of Sheep for the Waikato and Taupo Subdivisions, and in and for the several subdivisions of all sheep districts in the colony, from the 20th May, 1884; and to be Deputy Cattle Inspector in and for all cattle districts in the colony, from the 20th May, 1884; and also to be Registrar of Brands for the Waikato Branding District, from the same date; vice Alfred Sharp.
In the Marlborough Sheep and Cattle Districts.
RICHARD HULL to be an Inspector of Sheep for the Picton Subdivision, and in and for the several subdivisions of all sheep districts in the colony, from the 1st January, 1884; and also to be Deputy Cattle Inspector in and for all cattle districts in the colony, from the same date; vice Percy Groom, resigned.
EDMUND CLIFTON to be an Inspector of Sheep for the Amuri Subdivision, and in and for the several subdivisions of all sheep districts in the colony, from the 1st June, 1884; and also to be Deputy Cattle Inspector in and for all cattle districts in the colony, from the same date; vice W. A. Scaife, resigned.
