SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT, in accordance with “The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882,” and “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” the prayer of the petition to constitute the Le Bon’s Bay Road District, signed by two-thirds of the ratepayers residing in that part of the Okain’s Bay Road District affected, be acceded to; and, further, that on and after the 15th day of April, 1884, the district contained in the following description shall be the boundaries of the Le Bon’s Bay Road District:—

Description of Le Bon’s Bay District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded towards the East by the ocean from Putakolo Head to a point nearly opposite Pah Island, and being in line with the north-west boundary of Section 23089; towards the South by the ocean from Putakolo Head to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 18027; thence by the road along high-water mark to the centre of the road north-east of Section 10574; thence by said road to its junction with the road south-west of Section 26067, at the south-west corner of that section; towards the West by the centre of the last-mentioned road to a point in line with the east boundary of Section 35281; thence by a straight line to, along, and in continuation of said boundary to the centre of the road north of the same section; and towards the North-west by the latter road to a point in line with the north-west boundary of Section 20522; thence to and along said boundary to Section 19391; thence by the south-west and north-west boundaries of the latter section to the road north-west thereof; and from thence by said road and a line in continuation of the south-west side thereof to the ocean.

Description of the Okain’s Bay Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded towards the North-west and North-east by the sea; towards the South by the Le Bon’s Bay Road District; towards the South-west by the Summit Road, forming the southern boundary of Sections 22663, 28297, and 35281; and towards the West by the Pigeon Bay Road District, hereinafter described.

Description of the Town of Akaroa, and Akaroa and Wainui Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded towards the North by the Port Levy, the Pigeon Bay, the Okain’s Bay, and the Le Bon’s Bay Road Districts, hereinbefore described; thence towards the South-east by the sea; thence towards the South-west and again towards the South-east by Akaroa Harbour; thence towards the South by the sea; and towards the West by the Little River Road District, hereinbefore described, to the Port Levy Road District aforesaid, the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area the Borough of Akaroa.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT, in accordance with “The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882,” and “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” the prayer of the petitions received from and signed by two-thirds of the ratepayers residing in the Pigeon Bay and Port Levy Road Districts—to the effect that the boundaries of the Pigeon Bay and Port Levy Road Districts may be altered, so that they may be more clearly defined—be acceded to; and, further, that on and after the 15th day of April, 1884, the following boundaries shall be the boundaries of the Pigeon Bay and Port Levy Road Districts respectively:—

Description of the Pigeon Bay Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded towards the North by the sea; towards the East by the ridge of the spur between Decanter Bay and Little Akaloa to the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 27778; thence along that road and the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 20088 to its junction with the Summit Road at the south-eastern corner of Section 20444; towards the South by the Summit Road and the Purau and Akaroa Road; and towards the West by the Port Levy Road District, hereinbefore described.

Description of Boundaries of the Port Levy Road District.

The Port Levy Road District comprises that portion of the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded on the North by the sea; on the South by the south side of the Purau and Akaroa Road, and the Mount Herbert Peak Road; on the West by the Port Victoria Road District; and on the East by the road running through Section 32152, near Mount Fitzgerald, from its junction with the Purau Road to the eastern boundary of Section 26939; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of that section and Sections 28980 and 33517; thence easterly and northerly along Section 28979 to the Native Reserve to Section 24762; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of latter section to road passing through the same; thence northerly by latter road to the beach at Big Bay.

I hereby certify that the special orders constituting the Le Bon’s Bay Road District, and altering the boundaries of the Pigeon Bay and Port Levy Road Districts, were duly made by the Akaroa County Council on the 16th day of February, 1884, in accordance with “The Counties Act, 1876,” and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Featherston Road Board intend to take the land comprised in a line of road 100 links in width, commencing at the junction of Ward’s Line with Section 68, Moroa, and continuing on the bearing in a straight line through the middle of Sections 68, 84, and part of 83, a distance of 4488 links; thence by a slight curve to the eastward of 250 links; then in a direct line through Sections 83 and 87 to the junction with Battersea Road, 5400 links; after following Battersea Road for 360 links it turns by the side of the main drain on a magnetic bearing of 7° 30′ for 900 links, then on a bearing of 21° 30′ for 1165 links, then on a bearing of 42° for 900 links, all in Section 87; then on a bearing of 34° 10′ for 600 links through Section 20 to the Lower Valley Road on the Kaiwai-wai Cutting.

As the same is more particularly delineated upon a plan of the proposed road, which has been deposited at the office of the Featherston Road Board, in Featherston, and is now open for public inspection.
