Extension of Lower Hutt Town District, County of Hutt.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section three of “The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment, Act, 1883,” it is enacted that, whenever two town districts in the same county are situate within half a mile from each other, and a natural boundary, such as a river, stream, or road, runs through or along the lands intervening between the boundaries of such town districts, the Governor may, by Proclamation, extend the boundaries of either of such districts, so as to include all lands intervening between the boundary of the town district and such natural boundary aforesaid, notwithstanding that the limits fixed for the extent of a town district may be thereby exceeded: And whereas the Lower Hutt Town District and the Petone Town District, in the County of Hutt, are situated within half a mile from each other, and White’s road being a natural boundary, as defined by the said Act, runs along the lands intervening between the boundaries of the said town districts, and it is expedient to extend the boundaries of the said Lower Hutt District to the said White’s Road, so as to include all lands intervening between the said Lower Hutt Town District and the Petone Town District:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said “Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Act, 1883,” do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Lower Hutt Town District shall be extended as provided by the said Act, and that, on and after the date hereof, the boundaries of the said town district shall be those described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the County of Hutt bounded towards the North-east by that part of Section No. 37, Block IX., Belmont Survey District, granted to Leonard Young, from the eastern side of the Western Hutt Road to a public road forming the western boundary of Section No. 46 of the said Block IX.; thence across the latter road and by the said Section No. 46 to its south-eastern corner; thence towards the South-east by Sections Nos. 39 and 36 of Block IX. aforesaid, and Sections Nos. 33, 30, and 26 of Block XIV. of the said Belmont Survey District; thence again towards the North-east by the last-mentioned section to its south-eastern corner; across a road and again towards the South-east by Sections Nos. 23 and 19 of the said Block XIV. to the south-western corner of the latter section; thence again towards the North-east by Section No. 19 aforesaid to a point opposite to the production of the boundary-line of part of Section No. 13, granted to Hart Udy; thence across the public road and again towards the South-east by the eastern boundary of land granted to Hart Udy and T. Frethey, being parts of Sections Nos. 12 and 13 of Block XIV. aforesaid; thence towards the South by the southern boundary-line of the said Section No. 12 and its production to the Okoutu River; thence towards the South-west by that river to the southern side of White’s Road; thence by original Sections Nos. 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4, Block XIII., Belmont Survey District aforesaid, to the Wellington-Masterton line of railway; thence towards the North-west by that line of railway to the Lower Hutt Railway Station Reserve of 3 acres and 4 perches in original Section No. 20, Block VIII., Belmont Survey District aforesaid; thence again towards the North-east by that reserve to the Hutt Main Road; thence again towards the North-west by the Railway Station Reserve aforesaid to Section No. 24, Block VIII. aforesaid; thence again towards the South-west by original Section No. 20 aforesaid to the Wellington-Masterton line of railway; thence again towards the North-west by that line of railway to the Western Hutt Road, and by that road to the northern boundary-line of Section No. 28, Block VIII. aforesaid; thence again towards the North-east by that boundary-line to the proper left bank of the Hutt River; thence again towards the North-west by that river to the Western Hutt Road aforesaid, and by that road to the place of commencement: as the said boundaries are delineated on the plans in the District Survey Office, Wellington.
