Districts constituted under “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage district known as the Hawera District; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—

WAIMATE PLAIN DISTRICT.

All that area in the County of Hawera, bounded towards the North-east and South-east by a right line from the summit of Mount Egmont to the source of the Waingongoro River, and by that river to the ocean; towards the South by the sea; and towards the West by the right bank of the Oeo River and a right line from its source to the summit of Mount Egmont, the place of commencement.

HAWERA DISTRICT.

All that area in the County of Hawera, bounded towards the North and East by a right line from the summit of Mount Egmont to the source of the Patea River, and by the left bank of that river to the confiscation boundary; thence towards the South-east by a right line to the source of the Manawapou River, and by that river to the sea; towards the South-west by the sea; and towards the West and again towards the South-west by the Waimate Plain District, hereinbefore described, to the summit of Mount Egmont, the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the first day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Districts constituted under “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875.”

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration district known as the Hawera District; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the names whereof shall be the Waimate Plain and Hawera Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the first day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.
