PATENT for an Invention for the better straining of Wires, whereby a greater amount of Wire can be pulled up than with the ordinary Wire-strainer.

ROBERT STANSELL, of Timaru, New Zealand, Barbed-wire Manufacturer, has deposited at this office a specification of the said invention; and I have appointed Tuesday, the 26th day of August next, at 12 o'clock noon, at this office, to hear the said application and all objections thereto; and I require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 11th day of August next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Charlestown on or before the 2nd day of June, 1884.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden's Office at Charlestown.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: William Price. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: "Progressive Company." 2 acres, at Dawson's Terrace, Six-Mile, Charlestown, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.
