All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 17 acres and 14 perches, being a portion of Tahoraite No. 2 Block, Block III.; commencing at a point on public road distant 1157 links from the junction of the said public road and the main road. Bounded—South-westerly by said road, 402 links; North-westerly by a line, 2645 links, to the Makirikiri Creek; North-easterly by said Makirikiri Creek for a distance of about 120 links; North-westerly by a line, 2420 links, to the main road; Easterly by said road, 493 links; South-easterly by a line, 4628 links, to the commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 28 perches, being a portion of Tahoraite No. 2 Block, Block III.; commencing at a point on the main road distant 69 links from an angle. Bounded—North-westerly by a line, 280 links, to the boundary between Tahoraite No. 2 Block and the Native Reserve; North-easterly by said boundary, 300 links; South-easterly by a line, 671 links, to the main road; Westerly by said main road, 493 links, to the commencing point.

The above areas and linkages being either more or less; the several parcels of land being situate in the Survey District of Tahoraite, Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay; and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 11364, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for further portion of the Western Railways, namely, from Riverton to Orepuki:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified,

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 19 perches, situate in the Borough of Riverton; commencing at a point distant 111 links by a bearing of 207° 33′ from the northern corner of Section No. 14, Block IV., in the said borough. Bounded—North-easterly by Railway Reserve, 60 and 150 links respectively; generally North-westerly by a road and the Jacob’s River Estuary, 498, 110, 1000, 470, 133, 241, and 195 links respectively; South-easterly by Palmerston Street, 142 and 35 links respectively; North-easterly by Government Buildings Reserve, Block II., 20 links; South-easterly generally by the aforesaid Government Buildings Reserve and Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block II., 124, 268, 100, 128, 115, 55, and 49 links respectively; North-easterly by Napier Street, 54 links; South-easterly by a road, 775 and 773 links respectively, to the point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 29 perches, situate on the foreshore of the Jacob’s River Estuary (Borough of Riverton); commencing at a point in a line with the south-western side of Napier Street 82 links distant from the northern corner of Section No. 1, Block II., in the said borough. Bounded—South-easterly by a road, 470 links; North-westerly by a right line, 1455 links; South-easterly by a road, 1000 links, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 10 perches, being portion of Government Buildings Reserve, Block II., Borough of Riverton; commencing at the south-west corner of the said Government Buildings Reserve. Bounded—South-easterly by Palmerston Street 3 links, by Government Buildings Reserve 43, 220, and 131 links respectively; North-westerly by a road, 268 and 124 links respectively; South-westerly by a road, 20 links, to the point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 perch, being portion of Section No. 21, Block I., Borough of Riverton; commencing at the north-west corner of the said Section No. 21. Bounded—North-westerly by Palmerston Street, 42 links; South-easterly by a right line, 72 links; South-westerly by a road, 44 links, to the point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 22 perches, being portion of Section No. 4A, Block I., Jacob’s River Hundred, in the Borough of Riverton; commencing at the north-west corner of the said section. Bounded—North-westerly by a road and Subdivision 1 of Section No. 5, Block I., Jacob’s River Hundred, 40 and 60 links respectively; South-westerly by a curved line 190 links, and by a right line 60 links; North-easterly by a road, 260 links, to the point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 11 perches, more or less, being portion of Subdivision 1 of Section No. 5, Block I., Jacob’s River Hundred, in the Borough of Riverton; commencing at the north-east corner of the said subdivision. Bounded—South-easterly by Section No. 4A, 60 links; South-westerly by a curved line, 116 links; North-westerly by Subdivision 2 of Section No. 5, 60 links; North-easterly by a road, 116 links, to point of commencement.

Bounded—South-easterly by Subdivision 2 of said Section No. 5, 60 links; South-westerly by a curved line, 115 links; North-westerly by a road, 50 links; North-easterly by a road, 117 links, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 8 perches, being portion of Subdivisions 1, 2, and 3 of Section No. 5, Block I., Jacob’s River Hundred, in the Borough of Riverton; commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Subdivision 1, 388 links distant from the south-east corner thereof. Bounded—South-westerly by lines, 353 links; North-westerly by Section No. 6, Block I., Jacob’s River Hundred, 12 links; North-easterly by a road, 352 links; South-easterly by a road, 20 links, to the point of commencement.
