Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game, License Fee, &c., Hawke’s Bay District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the Hawke’s Bay District, comprising the Counties of Hawke’s Bay, Waipawa, and Wairoa, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of thirty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Napier is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land District of Auckland described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land being Section No. 2 of Block II., Tauhara Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 16 acres and 34 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by a line, 1100 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 3 1273 links, the crossing of a road-line 100 links, and by Section No. 3 aforesaid 202 links; towards the South-west by a line, 1100 links; towards the North-west by a line 113 links, the crossing of a road-line 109 links, and a line 1353 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a thermal-springs reserve.

TOWN OF TAUPO.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 80 acres and 21 perches, more or less, and known as the Domain Reserve, in the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by a line, 881 links; towards the South-east generally by Tauhara Street 3000 links, the crossing of a road 420 links, Ateamuri Road 934 links, and by Tongariro Road 2776 links; towards the South-west by Lake Terrace, 1372 links; and towards the North-west by a line 860 links, and the Waikato River: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; save and excepting a road 150 links wide, which intersects the area hereby described. For a recreation-ground.

All those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, and known as Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Block X., Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Block XIX., and Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 of Block II. of the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District:—

Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Block X., containing 2 acres 3 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Paora Hape Street, 425 links; towards the South-east by Taniwha Street, 647 links; towards the South-west by Tamamutu Street, 425 links; and towards the North-west by Ruapehu Street, 647 links.

Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Block XIX., containing 4 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Horomatangi Street, 1000 links; towards the South-east by Kaimanawa Street, 400 links; towards the South-west by Heuheu Street, 1000 links; and towards the North-west by Titiraupenga Street, 400 links.

Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 of Block II., containing 3 acres 2 roods 10 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the South-east by Kaimanawa Street, 945 links; towards the South-west by Scannell Street, 425 links; towards the North-west by Motutaiiki Street, 710 links; and towards the North by Waiariki Road, 449 links and 43 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For municipal purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 39 perches, more or less, and known as Block XXXII. of the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by Roberts Street, 547 links; towards the South-east by Ruapehu Street, 181 links; and towards the South-west by Lake Terrace, 576 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a justice, postal, and telegraph reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 8 perches, more or less, and known as Sections Nos. 3 and 4 of Block IX. of the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by Section No. 2, 212 links; towards the South-east by Sections Nos. 8 and 7, 258 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 5, 212 links; and towards the North-west by Gascoigne Street, 258 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school site.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 24 perches, more or less, and known as Block III. of the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District. Bounded towards the North by Waiariki Road, 449 links and 43 links; towards the South-east by Ruapehu Street, 436 links; towards the South-west by Paora Hape Street, 425 links; and towards the North-west by Gascoigne Street, 202 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a plantation reserve.

All those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, and known as Sections Nos. 9, 10, 11, and 12 of the Suburbs of the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District:—

Sections Nos. 9 and 10, containing 5 acres and 36 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Opepe Street, 730 links; towards the South-east by Waikato Street, 1000 links; towards the South-west by Runanga Street, 330 links; and towards the North-west by Tauhara Street, 1080 links.

Sections Nos. 11 and 12, containing 9 acres and 36 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Huka Street, 1000 links; towards the South-east by Waikato Street, 1000 links; towards the South-west by Opepe Street, 790 links; and towards the North-west by Tauhara Street, 555 links and 485 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For primary education.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, and known as Section No. 11 of Block XIV. of the Town of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by Section No. 7, 150 links; towards the South-east by Sections Nos. 13 and 14, 200 links; towards the South-west by Horomatangi Street, 150 links; and towards the North-west by Section No. 10, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site for a mechanics’ institute and library.
