before described; towards the South and South-east by the
Manawatu River; towards the South-west by the south-
western boundary-lines of the Borough of Palmerston North;
and towards the North-west by a line along the middle of
Main Street, and that line produced to the middle of the
Public Square.

Bounded towards the North-west by the north-western
boundary-line of the Borough of Palmerston North; towards
the North-east by Ward No. 2, hereinbefore described;
towards the South-east by Ward No. 3, hereinbefore de-

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882," and of every other
power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said colony, and at the request of the Southland Boys'
and Girls' High School Board, in whom the lands herein
described are vested, doth hereby declare that the sections
of land enumerated in the First and Second Schedules hereto,
which have been reserved for educational purposes, shall be
disposed of, subject to the provisions of "The Land Act,
1877," on deferred payments and pastoral leases respectively.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of
such restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said land.
