Mining Notices.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register the Arm-chair Gold-Mining Company (Limited) as a Limited Company, under the provisions of “The Mining Companies Act, 1872,” and amendments thereof.

SCHEDULE A.—(Clause 4.)—Christchurch, 20th March, 1884.—To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch.—I hereby apply for a Gold-Mining Lease of the lands hereinafter described, in accordance with the Gold-Mining Leases Regulations of New Zealand, and I agree, upon the approval of this application, to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same.—CHARLES E. GODFREY. Name and address in full of applicant: Charles Edwin Godfrey, Accountant, Christchurch. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: Alpine Quartz-Mining Company. Extent of land applied for: 16¼ acres. Minimum number of men to be employed by the lessee: (1) For the first six months, two men; (2) subsequently, when in full work, eight men. Amount of capital proposed to be invested: £8,000. Proposed mode of working the land: Tunnels and shafts. Precise locality: South of, and distant about three-quarters of a mile from, Mount Sebastopol, in south branch of Wilberforce River. Term for which lease required: Fifteen years. Time of commencing operations: On survey. The above application and any objection thereto will be heard at the Commissioner’s office at Christchurch, on Thursday, the 10th April, 1884. Any person desiring to object to the issue of a mining lease upon the above application must, within twenty clear days from the date of such application, enter his objection at the Land Office at Christchurch.—JOHN H.
