Mining Notices.

SCHEDULE A.—(Clause 4.)—Christchurch, 20th March, 1884.—To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch.—I hereby apply for a Gold-Mining Lease of the lands hereinafter described, in accordance with the Gold-Mining Leases Regulations of New Zealand, and I agree, upon the approval of this application, to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same.—CHARLES E. GODFREY. Name and address in full of applicant: Charles Edwin Godfrey, Accountant, Christchurch. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: Alpine Quartz-Mining Company. Extent of land applied for: 16¼ acres. Minimum number of men to be employed by the lessee: (1) For the first six months, two men; (2) subsequently, when in full work, eight men. Amount of capital proposed to be invested: £8,000. Proposed mode of working the land: Tunnels and shafts. Precise locality: South of, and distant about three-quarters of a mile from, Mount Sebastopol, in south branch of Wilberforce River. Term for which lease required: Fifteen years.
