Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on the twenty-first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, pass a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments; and that Tuesday, the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for application.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby fix the price at which the land so described shall be sold to be the price stated in the Schedule hereto.

Land taken for Ballast-pits on the Patea-Manutahi Section of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for ballast-pits, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for use of a certain work which has already been executed, namely, part of the Patea-Manutahi Section of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor a memorial and map, signed and certified as required by the said Act, containing an accurate description of said land:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of any other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for use as ballast-pits; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty for use as ballast-pits, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 19 perches, being portion of Section No. 61, Patea District, commencing at a point 746 links from the north-east corner of Section No. 61, on a bearing of 187° 11'. Bounded—Generally Northerly by lines, 130 links and 433 links respectively; South-easterly by a line, 833 links; South-westerly by a line, 247 links; Westerly by a line to commencing point, 776 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 8 perches, being portion of Section No. 61, Patea District, commencing at a point 290 links from the north-east corner of Section No. 61, on a bearing of 157° 19'. Bounded—North-easterly by a public road, 354 links; Southerly by a line, 200 links; Westerly by a line to commencing point, 304 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 25 perches, situate in the Survey District of Carlyle, Provincial District of Taranaki, being portion of Section No. 503, Patea District, commencing at the south-west corner of Section No. 503 and north-west corner of Section No. 76. Bounded—Westerly by a public road, 157 links; Northerly by a line, 157 links; Easterly by a line, 157 links; Southerly by Section No. 76 to commencing point, 157 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 2 perches, being portion of Section No. 76, Patea District, commencing at the north-west corner of said section. Bounded—Northerly by Section No. 503, 157 links; North-easterly by a line, 737 links; Southerly by a line, 190 links; South-westerly by a line to commencing point, 744 links.

Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less; the several parcels of land being situate in the Survey District of Carlyle, Provincial District of Taranaki, and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 10865, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land.
