NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of LYNFORD ROWLAND, HOWARD ROWLAND, and RUSH ROWLAND, trading under the name or style of “T. Rowland’s Sons,” of Philadelphia, in the United States of America, Manufacturer of Shovels, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz. :—

NOTICE is hereby given that FRANCIS M. GORDON, of Wansbeck Street, Oamaru, in the Colony of New Zealand, Sauce Manufacturer, has applied to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz. :—

Description of Trade Mark.

A triangle containing three letters, “F.M.G.,” over which is the word “Dunack,” and under are the words “Picnic Sauce, from the receipt of a Scotch lady. For roast beef, steak, chops, cold meat, fish, sandwiches, this excellent sauce is unrivalled. Sole manufacturer, F. M. Gordon, Oamaru. To make an excellent salad dressing, add to two tablespoonfuls of this sauce one tablespoonful of salad oil or cream.”

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.

SIR,—I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 66, of the 8th September last, forwarding copies of the Bill entitled “The Confederation and Annexation Act, 1883,” which has been passed by the Legislative Houses of New Zealand, and reserved by you for the signification of Her Majesty’s pleasure.

This Bill will receive the careful consideration of Her Majesty’s Government, but Her Majesty will not be finally advised with respect to it until after the approaching conference on the subject of the Western Pacific Islands has been held.
