Sittings of Court for granting Orders of Adjudication in Bankruptcy.

IN exercise of the power in me in this behalf vested by “The Bankruptcy Act, 1883,” I hereby direct that Colin McKenzie Gordon, Esq., Registrar of the Supreme Court for the Judicial District of Otago and Southland, shall sit at Chambers, at all convenient times during office hours, for the purpose of granting orders of adjudication in bankruptcy upon the petition of the debtor.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Colonial Industries.—Portland Cement.

Public Works Office,
Wellington, 28th November, 1883.

WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this office up to noon on 31st March, 1884, from persons who are willing to contract for the supply and delivery of one hundred tons of Portland Cement. The cement to be manufactured in the Colony of New Zealand, and to be delivered at any of the under-mentioned places, viz., Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Port Chalmers, or Invercargill. Tenders to be addressed to the Minister for Public Works, and to be marked outside “Tender for Supply of 100 tons of Portland Cement.” Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Application for a Patent.

PATENT for an Invention for the Production from Photographic Negatives of Prototype Prints in ordinary printers’ ink in a printing press, and of Plain or Chromolithographs by the use of a combination of a phototypic and lithographic process, and to imitate for either purpose line or stippled engravings, to be called “Hughes’s Prototype and Photo-lithographic Combination Process.”

JAMES HUGHES, of Wellington, New Zealand, Printer, has deposited at this office a specification of the said invention; and I have appointed Thursday, the 5th day of June next, at 12 o’clock noon, at this office, to hear the said application and all objections thereto; and I require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 21st day of May next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to announce the under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and that the ground is now open for application as if no lease of the said ground had ever been granted for:—

John Malaghan and Others; 9 acres 3 roods 10 perches; Section 9, Block XII, Skipper’s Creek District, Otago District. No. 3210.
