Land taken for a Road in the Parish of Takapuna, Provincial District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in the Parish of Takapuna, Provincial District of Auckland:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 2 perches, situate in the Parish of Takapuna, in the Lake Road District, and being a portion of a road-line varying in width and lying within the south-western boundary of the north-western portion of Section No. 195; commencing at the north-western angle of the north-western portion of Section No. 195. Bounded—Generally North-easterly by lines, 485 and 615 links respectively; Southerly by lines, 56 and 447 links respectively; generally South-westerly by lines, 123, 356, and 135 links respectively; Westerly by a line, 498 links, to the commencing point.

All those parcels of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 17 perches, and 1 acre 2 roods 16 perches, respectively, situate in the Parish of Takapuna, in the Lake Road District, and being portions of a road-line varying in width and traversing the eastern boundary of the eastern portion of Section No. 197:—

Portion containing 3 roods 17 perches: Commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the eastern portion of Section No. 197 distant 830 links from its northernmost angle. Bounded—Northerly by a line, 185 links; generally Easterly by lines, 475 and 230 links respectively; Westerly by a line, 754 links, to the commencing point.

Portion containing 1 acre 2 roods 16 perches: Commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of the eastern portion of Section No. 197 distant 658 links from its southernmost angle. Bounded—South-westerly by lines, 705 and 327 links respectively; North-westerly by a line, 279 links; North-easterly by a line, 1128 links; South-easterly by a line, 105 links, to the commencing point.

Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less; the above parcels of land being situate in the Provincial District of Auckland, and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 12098, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Christchurch, this twelfth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

And whereas the Tauranga County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the
