THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

I, JOHN AITKEN CONNELL, of Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, Auctioneer, Managing Director of the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited), do solemnly and sincerely declare—
- That the liability of the members is limited.
- That the capital of the company is £125,000, divided into 25,000 shares of £5 each.
- That the number of shares issued is 21,269.
- That calls to the amount of £1 2s. 6d. per share have been made, under which the sum of £23,927 12s. 6d. has been received.
- That there are no estates under administration by the company, as the Act authorizing the company to administer estates only came into operation on the 3rd day of November last.
- That the liabilities of the company on the 1st day of November last were—Debts owing to sundry persons by the company, namely, on simple contracts, £7,678 9s. 8d.; on estimated liabilities, £150.
- That the assets of the company on that day were—Bills of exchange and promissory notes, £819 12s. 3d.; cash at bankers, £2,157 7s. 4d.; other securities and moneys owing to the company, £10,158 5s. 7d.; other assets, £19,333 17s. 2d.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

NOTICE is hereby given that all that piece of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods and 25 perches, more or less, being portion of Subdivision 7 of Section 37 on the plan of the Ten-acre Settlement of Hawera—bounded on or towards the North-east by High Street, 169 links; on or towards the North-west by other portion of the said Subdivision, 7, 1129 links; on or towards the South partly by Subdivision 4 of Section 37 aforesaid, 169 links; and on or towards the South-east by Subdivision 6 of the same section, 1129 links—is hereby appointed as the place for the Public Pound for the Borough of Hawera; and all sites hitherto used as places for public pounds within the Borough of Hawera are hereby abolished.

Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a commission at the rate of 5 per cent.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before two o’clock of the day preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post office money orders should be made payable.
Postage or duty stamps cannot in any case be received in payment from any place at which post office orders are issued.

THE FREEHOLDERS OF NEW ZEALAND:
A RETURN
GIVING the Names, Addresses, and Occupations of Owners of Land within the Colony, together with the Area and Value in Counties, and the Value in Boroughs and Town Districts, compiled from the Assessment Rolls of the Property-Tax Department as at the 1st October, 1882.
The names of Freeholders are printed in alphabetical order; and all land owned by them, in whatever part of the colony, appears opposite their respective names, thus enabling the total capital value of each person’s freehold property to be seen at a glance.
The book also contains a Return of the Lands held by Banks, Insurance Companies, and Companies registered as Corporations with Limited Liability.
As a Directory the book will be found of great value, as it contains the most complete and reliable information, and includes the names of over 71,000 colonists.
The book can be obtained at the Government Stationery Store, Wellington.
