ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of November, 1884.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by the two hundred and eleventh section of “The Counties Act, 1876,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time appointed for holding the annual meeting of the Council of the County of Amuri from Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to Wednesday, the tenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Special Order made by Wanganui County Council.—Re-dividing Ridings, &c.

THE following special order, made by the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with “The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

  1. RESOLVED, That this Council do now make a special order redividing the Wanganui County into ridings, with names and boundaries as hereinafter described.

  2. That one Councillor be elected for each riding.

Kaitoke Riding.

Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Wanganui River at its intersection with the southern boundary of the original No. 2 Line of Road; thence Easterly along the south side of the said No. 2 Line to the north-western corner of Section No. 29; thence Southerly and Easterly by the boundaries of said Section No. 29 to its extreme southern limit; thence South-easterly by a right line through the Block Iwiroa and Kohipo to the extreme northern limit of Block Riri a te hore No. 4; thence by the north-eastern boundary of the said Block Riri a te hore No. 4 to the extreme northern limit of Block Pari a Tau Tumaunga No. 1; thence by the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Paria Tumaunga No. 2 to a point where the southern boundary of Section No. 33 intersects the eastern boundary of the Putiki Native Reserve; thence Northerly along a portion of the eastern boundary of said Section No. 33 to the south-west corner of Section No. 34; thence Easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, and a portion of No. 136; thence Southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 107 and 106; thence Easterly by the southern boundary of Section No. 138 to its intersection with the western boundary of the Union Line of Road; thence Southerly by the said Union Line of Road to the southern boundary of Section No. 147; thence still Southerly by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 251 and 290; thence Westerly to the north-western corner of Section No. 253; thence by the western and south-western boundaries of said Section No. 253 to the Wangaehu River; thence by the said river to the sea; thence North-westerly by the sea-coast to the Wanganui River; thence by the left bank of the said river to the point of commencement.

Glen Durie Riding.

Commencing at the north-west corner of the Kaitoke Riding, as before described, where the south boundary of the original No. 2 Line of Road intersects the Wanganui River; thence up the said river to the south boundary of Section No. 60; thence Easterly by the said boundary to the south-east corner of said Section No. 60; thence Easterly by the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, and 123 to the north-east corner of said Section No. 123; thence Southerly by the eastern boundary of Section No. 123 to the No. 2 Line of Road; thence Easterly by the said road to the Union Line of Road; thence Southerly by the said Union Line to the north-east corner of the Kaitoke Riding; thence generally Westerly by the northern boundary of the said Kaitoke Riding to the point of commencement.
