WAITEMATA COUNTY.

TAKING LAND FOR A ROAD.

NOTICE is hereby given that, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” the Waitemata County Council propose to take the land metioned in the Schedule hereunder for the purpose of a public road.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Clerk of the Waitemata County Council at Auckland ; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the said road and of the land required to be taken is open for inspection at the Post Office, Hobsonville, near Auckland.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those parcels of land, of the width of 1 chain or thereabouts, commencing at a point on a road distant about 2527 links from the north-west corner of Allotment No. 21, Parish of Waipareira ; thence in a south-easterly direction through Allotment No. 21, Parish of Waipareira, 1864 links and 1298 links ; thence in a south-easterly direction through Allotment No. 22, Parish of Waipareira, 1639 links and 1171 links ; thence easterly through said Allotment No. 22, 2 links and 1175 links ; thence north-easterly, 607 links ; thence easterly, 379 links : as the same are more particularly delineated on the aforesaid plan : to high-water mark on the Waitemata Harbour.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned WILLIAM DERISLEY WOOD, JAMES SHAND, and WILLIAM WOOD, trading together in the City of Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, as Merchants, under the style or firm of “Wood, Shand, and Company,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of March, 1884. The said William Derisley Wood retires from the said Partnership as from the said 31st day of March, 1884, from which date the business of the late firm will be carried on by the said James Shand and William Wood upon their own account and for their own benefit, under the same firm or style of “Wood, Shand, and Company.” All moneys due to the late firm will be received, and all debts owing by the late firm will be paid, by the said James Shand and William Wood.

ISLAND BAY TRAMWAYS.

In the matter of “The Tramways Act, 1872,” and in the matter of the application of LOUIS DAVIES and ROBERT BRUCE WALLACE for an order authorizing the construction of a tramway from Riddiford Street to Island Bay.

NOTICE is hereby given that, at the expiration of forty-five days from the publication hereof, application is intended to be made to His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand for an order authorizing and empowering LOUIS DAVIES and ROBERT BRUCE WALLACE, both of the City of Wellington, Commission Agents, to construct, make, and use a tramway, the proposed route of which commences at the intersection of Riddiford Street with Rintoul Street, in the said City of Wellington, running thence along Rintoul Street to the South Road, and along the South Road to Luxford Street ; thence along Luxford Street to Adelaide Road ; thence along Adelaide Road to Duppa Street ; thence across Duppa Street ; thence through Sections Nos. 1095, 1097, and 1099 on the plan of the said city ; thence across the Town Belt to the boundary of the Township of Island Bay, within the Kilbirnie Road District ; thence along the road shown as the Parade on the plan of the said township to Avon Street, shown on the same plan ; thence along Avon Street to Clyde Street, in the said township ; thence along Clyde Street to Humber Street, in the same township ; thence along Humber Street to the Parade ; and thence along the Parade to low-water mark on the sea-beach : with power to make convenient sidings, passing-places, and crossings for the purposes of such tramway.

And notice is hereby further given that the said tramway is intended to be used for goods and passenger traffic ; and that a copy of this advertisement and the plan of the proposed works, and all other documents required to be deposited under the provisions of the above Act, will, on or before the 22nd day of December, 1884, be deposited for public inspection in the office, in the City of Wellington, of the Registrar of the Supreme Court ; in the office, in the same city, of the Corporation of the City of Wellington ; and in the office, in Adelaide Road, of the Kilbirnie Road Board, respectively ; and also with His Excellency the Governor : and that printed copies of the draft order when deposited pursuant to subsection 3 of the Third Schedule of the said Act, and of the order when made, will be deposited at the office of Messrs. Buller and Gully, Solicitors, Lambton Quay, in the said city, where such copies may be obtained.
