A PROCLAMATION.
I N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Public Reserves Sale Act,
1882,” and the fifty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,”
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land described in the First Schedule hereto shall be set
apart for sale on deferred payments, at the Land Offices at
Christchurch and Timaru, on a day to be fixed by the Com-
missioner of Crown Lands at Christchurch after an interval
of three months’ notice from the date hereof :
And, in pursuance of the fifth section of “The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby fix the price at
which the land so described shall be sold to be at the rate of
two pounds per acre :
And I do hereby further declare that the land described in
the Second Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction,
for cash, at a place to be fixed by the Commissioner of
Crown Lands, in the Borough of Waimate, after an interval
of three months from the date hereof, at the upset price of
two pounds per acre.

in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this fifth day of November, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
four.

A PROCLAMATION.
W HEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for further portion of the
Waitaki–Bluff Railway :
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to
be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land
in the manner hereby provided have been observed and per-
formed :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred by section one
hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and
of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me
in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further
portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 1 rood 374 perches, situate in the Lagoon at
Oamaru; commencing at a point 410 links eastward of and
at right angles to a point on the eastern boundary-line of
Thames Street 350 links northward of the intersection of the
northerly boundary of Helen Street with the western boun-
dary of Thames Street. Bounded as follows: Generally
North-westerly by a curved line running generally in a north-
easterly direction following an arc of a circle having the
radius of 724 links and the length of 1057 links, meeting the
western boundary-line of the railway reserve at the point of
