Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, West Coast (North Island), Wellington,
and Otago.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section
of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, West Coast (North
Island), Wellington, and Otago, described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre,
more or less, being called or known as Lot No. 61 of the
Town of Kihikihi, Puniu Survey District, Provincial District
of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by Lots Nos.
57 and 56, 500 links; towards the East by Lots Nos. 58 and
59, 200 links; towards the South by Lot No. 62, 500 links;
and towards the West by Hall Street, 200 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For Native purposes.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre,
more or less, being called or known as Lot No. 64 of the
Town of Kihikihi, Puniu Survey District, Provincial District
of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by Lot No. 63,
500 links; towards the East by Lot No. 60, 200 links;
towards the South by Lots Nos. 65 and 66, 500 links; and
towards the West by Hall Street, 200 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For Native purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less,
called or known as Lot No. 143, Section No. 4, Parish of
Waipipi, and situated in Block XII., Awitu Survey District.
Bounded on the North by a line, 687 links; towards the
East by a road, 100 links wide, 670 links; on the South by
a road, 100 links wide, 980 links; and on the the West by a
line, 600 links, to the point of commencement: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.
TARANAKI.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 15
perches, more or less, being Section No. 17 on the map of
the Township of Eltham, Block X., Ngaire Survey District.
Bounded toward the North by Section No. 16, 515·4 links;
towards the East by a road, 171 links; towards the South-
east by the Conway Road, 99·6 links; towards the South
by Section No. 18, 459 links; towards the West by a road,
215·2 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For public buildings.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Tara-
naki, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less,
being Sections Nos. 812, 813, 814, 815, 850, 851, 852, and 853
on the map of the Township of Stratford. Bounded towards
the North-east by the Mountain Road, 464 links; towards the
South-east by Sections Nos. 816 and 854, 440 links; towards
the South-west by Miranda Street, 464 links; and towards
the North-west by Sections Nos. 849 and 811, 440 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school
site.
WEST COAST (NORTH ISLAND).
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or
less, being part of the Suburban Section No. 8, Block IX.,
Opunake Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east
by the South Road, 200 links; towards the South-east by
Section No. 7, 500 links; towards the South-west by part of
Section No. 8, 200 links; towards the North-west by part
of Section No. 8, 500 links; be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a site for a pound.
WELLINGTON.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 3 roods 31
perches, more or less, being a ferry reserve on the Wai-o-
hine River, on the plan of Block XIV., Tiffin Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded towards the North-east and South-east by
a Native reserve, 1140 links and 296 links respectively;
towards the South-west by the Waiohine River, 1050 links;
and towards the West by a public road, 305 links. For a
ferry reserve.
OTAGO.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 24 perches, more or less,
situate in the Town of Wyndham, being Section No. 1,
Block XIII., on the map of the said town. Bounded
towards the North-west by Ferry Street, 201·5 links;
towards the North-east by Section No. 2 of same block,
150·6 links; and towards the South-west by Malta Street,
251·5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For
a site for Town Board offices.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 13 acres, more or less, situate
in the Town of Wyndham, being Section No. 66, Block VI.,
on the map of the said town. Bounded on all sides (ex-
cept the south-west) by a lagoon for a distance of 10600
links; and on the South-west by a road reserve, 700 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a recreation-
ground.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 16 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more
or less, situate in the Township of Waikouaiti, being Section
No. 1, Block XXIV., on the map of the said township.
Bounded towards the North-west by Waikouaiti Bay, 1750
links; towards the North-east and South-west by the ocean,
5150 links; and again towards the South-west by Section
No. 2 of same block, 990 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a site for a lighthouse.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 16 acres 2 roods, more or less,
situate in the Township of Waikouaiti, being Section No. 2,
Block XXIV., on the map of the said township. Bounded
towards the North-west by Sulisker Street 1567·8 links, also
by Waikouaiti Bay 688·8 links; towards the North-east by
Section No. 1 of same block, 729·6 links; towards the South-
east, South, and South-west by the ocean, 3000 links; and
again towards the South-west by Kilda Street, 600 links: be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a recreation-
ground.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-four.

Altering Time of Meeting of the Land Board of the Land
District of Wellington.

WHEREAS by the first subsection of section twenty-five
of "The Land Act, 1877," it is provided that the
Land Boards of the respective land districts shall sit at the
land office in the principal town of the land district at
certain times to be determined by the Board and approved of
by the Governor, and published in the New Zealand Gazette :
And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency
the Governor, dated the twentieth day of January, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, it was appointed
that the Land Board of Wellington should sit on the tenth
day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
and on every alternate Thursday thereafter, at half-past ten
o'clock a.m. :
And whereas the Land Board of Wellington did, on the
sixteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-four, pass a resolution recommending that the time of
sitting should be altered, and it is expedient to give effect to
the said recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do
hereby fix and determine that the ordinary meetings of the
Land Board of the Land District of Wellington shall be held
every alternate Thursday, at ten o'clock a.m., commencing
on Thursday, the thirtieth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-four, instead of half-past ten o'clock a.m.,
as heretofore appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-four.
