Rewa, and by Section No. 523, Block IV., Otahua; gene-
rally towards the South by Sections Nos. 14, 89, 92, and 96,
Block IV., Otahua, and by the centre of the Tauaru River to
its confluence with the Kerearea Stream; thence generally
towards the South-east and South by the Wairarapa West
County to the Manawatu County, and by the Manawatu
County to the point of commencement: excepting from the
above-described area the Borough of Masterton.
CASTLEPOINT RIDING (AMENDED).
Bounded towards the North by the Waipawa County from
the north-easternmost corner of the Alfredton Riding, before
described, to the mouth of the Waimata Stream on the East
Coast; thence towards the South-east by the ocean to the
Whareama River; thence towards the South-west by the
said Whareama River to its confluence with the Waihora
Stream; thence again towards the South-east by the said
Waihora Stream to the north-east angle of Section No. 679,
Rewa Survey District; thence by a right line to the eastern-
most angle of Section No. 669, said Rewa Survey District;
thence again towards the South-west by the said Section
No. 669 to the Kaumingi Stream, and by the said Kaumingi
Stream to the Tauaru River; and thence towards the North-
west generally by the Masterton and Alfredton Ridings,
before described, to the point of commencement.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly
passed in accordance with the provisions of "The Counties
Act Amendment Act, 1882."

THE following by-laws, made by the Upper Moutere Road
Board, are published in accordance with "The Road
Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
That, on and after the 1st day of October, 1884, the follow-
ing by-laws be enforced in the Upper Moutere Road Dis-
trict:—
- Any person or persons guilty of any of the following
offences within the limits of the Upper Moutere Road Dis-
trict shall, upon conviction of any such offence, be liable to
forfeit and pay any penalty not exceeding the sum of 40s.
for any one offence. - No person shall place, or cause to be placed, any
obstruction in or upon any roadway, street, footpath, or
reserve, by allowing any vehicle or animal to remain in,
upon, or across the same, or by placing thereon any goods or
material of any kind, or by erecting fences in, upon, or across
any roadway, footpath, street, or reserve, without having pre-
viously obtained the written consent of the Clerk of the
Board.
3. No person shall place any obstruction in, upon, or
across any ditch, drain, creek, river, or watercourse of any
kind, by throwing therein any material whatsoever.
4. No person shall set fire to any timber, scrub, bush, or
other combustible matter which may be liable to damage
any road, street, footpath, or reserve.
5. No person shall remove, or cause to be removed, any
soil, gravel, sand, stone, or timber from any roadway, street,
footpath, reserve, nor from the bed or banks of any creek or
watercourse, without having previously obtained the written
consent of the Clerk of the Board.
6. No person shall permit any cattle to stray or depasture,
whether under the tendence or control of any person or
persons, or not, in or upon any road or street, or the sides
thereof, within the limits of the Upper Moutere Road Dis-
trict.
7. The word "cattle" shall, for the purpose of these
by-laws, be deemed to include horses, mules, asses, sheep,
goats, and swine, of all ages and of either sex; and to apply
to any one of such animals, as well as to a mob or herd.
8. The words "road, street, footpath, reserve," shall mean
any road, street, footpath, and reserve under the control or
management of the Upper Moutere Road Board.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been
duly passed in accordance with the seventy-fifth section of
"The Road Boards Act, 1882."
