Special Order made by Wairarapa East County Council.—Boundaries of Ridings altered.

THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa East County Council, is published in accordance with “The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER passed by the County Council of East Wairarapa, on the 11th day of September, 1884, altering the Boundaries of the several Ridings in the said County, in accordance with the Provisions of Section 26 of “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1882.”

WHEREAS by Proclamation dated 1st February, 1883, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of that date, the boundaries of the several ridings in the County of Wairarapa East were declared to be those set forth in Schedule II. to that Proclamation: And whereas, since that date, certain new road districts have been constituted within the limits of said county, by which constitution the boundaries of the several road districts in the county have been so altered as to render it necessary to alter the boundaries of certain ridings in order to comply with the provisions of section 23 of “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1882:” Now, therefore, in conformity with the provisions of section 26 of the said Act, this Council hereby, by special order, declares, that

in lieu of the boundaries of the Alfredton, Masterton, and Castlepoint Ridings, published in the New Zealand Gazette before mentioned, the following shall be substituted:—

ALFREDTON RIDING (AMENDED).

Bounded towards the North by the Waipawa County from the Manawatu Gorge to the point where the northern boundary of the Provincial District of Wellington crosses the summit of the Puketoi Range; thence towards the East generally by the summit of that range to Puketoi Trig. Station, by a right line from the last-mentioned trig. station to the north-west corner of Section No. 50, thence by Sections Nos. 50 and 51, Block VII., Puketoi, to the Tiraumea River, by the centre of that river to its confluence with the Waitawhiti Stream, by that stream to Section No. 174, Block XI., Puketoi, by the last-mentioned section and by Section No. 175 of the same block and by the western boundary of the last-mentioned section produced until it reaches the centre of the Taueru River, by that centre until it reaches a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 143, Block II., Mangapakeha; generally towards the South by the last-mentioned section and that boundary produced until it meets the dividing line between the College and Educational Reserves, by the Educational Reserve and Section No. 131, Block I., Mangapakeha, by Sections Nos. 21, 17, 18, 101, and 100, Block IV., Kopuaranga, by the centre of a public road and the Wangaehu Valley Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 103, Block III., Kopuaranga, and by a right line bearing 295° 30′ (magnetic) from the last-mentioned point to the Tararua Range; and generally towards the West by that range to the commencing point.

MASTERTON RIDING (AMENDED.)

Bounded generally towards the North by the Alfredton Riding, before described, from the Tararua Range to the centre of the Taueru River, by that centre and by Section No. 824, Block III., Mangapakeha; generally towards the East by Sections Nos. 156, 155, 154, and 153, Block III., Sections Nos. 811, 812, and by 869, Block VI., Sections Nos. 870, 871, and 875, across the public road, parts 1 and 2 of Section No. 874, Block X., Sections Nos. 867 and 518, Block XIII., all of the Mangapakeha, by Section No. 524, Block I.,
