Land set apart on deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The Land Act,
1877," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclama-
tion in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of
any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of
land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on
deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and that he
may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by
any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter,
amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on the
twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three, pass a resolution recommending that the land
described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart
for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid
recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on
deferred payments; and that Wednesday, the thirty-first
day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three,
shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for
application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the
selection map in the principal land office of the district.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of "The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby fix the
price at which the land so described shall be sold to be
the price set opposite each allotment in the Schedule hereto.

Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House at Wellington,
this nineteenth day of September, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of September, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of "The Public Works
Act, 1882," it is enacted that, if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
that Act or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or other-
wise however, for public works, is not required for public use,
the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly notified
and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions
therein set forth:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before
the Governor the memorial referred to in the section afore-
said, praying the Governor, by an Order in Council, to cause
such land to be sold:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities aforesaid, do hereby order and authorize the land
described in the Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt with in
the manner and subject to the conditions of the fourteenth
and following sections of the above in part recited Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods and 17
perches, more or less, situated in the Township of Kawakawa,
originally granted as Te Wharau Block, Block No. XVI.,
