N OTICE is hereby given that Messieurs W. AND G. TURN-
BULL AND CO., of Wellington, in the Colony of New
Zealand, Merchants, have applied to register, under "The
Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks of which the follow-
ing are descriptions:—
Description of Trade Mark No. 1.
The words "Champion Light," in letters about 1 inch high,
forming an arch with the convex side upwards; over the
arch are the figures and word "110 Flash," in one line, the
figures about inch high, and the letters about inch high;
at the upper right-hand side of the figures is the character
"O," about inch high. Inside the arch are the figures
"130," about 1½ inches high, at the upper right-hand side of
which is the character "O," about inch high. Below the
arch are the words "Burning Test, Brilliant, and Safe,"
arranged in three lines, the first two words, in letters about
inch high, forming the first line, the third word, in letters
about 18 inches high, forming the second line, and the fourth
and fifth words forming the third line; the letters of the
fourth word are about 1 inch high, and the letters of the
fifth word are about 1 inches high. The whole combination
of words and figures forms a brand about 10 inches high and
7 inches wide.
Description of Trade Mark No. 2.
The words "Northern Light," in letters about 1 inch high,
forming an arch with the convex side upward; inside this
arch are the figures "150," about 2 inches high; at the upper
right-hand side of these figures is the character "O," about
inch high. Below the arch are the words "Burning Test;
Absolutely Safe," arranged in three lines, the first two words,
in letters about inch high, forming the first line, the third
word, in letters about 1½ inches high, forming the second line,
and the fourth word, in letters about 14 inches high, forming
the third line. Below the word "Absolutely" are the words
"Will not explode," in letters about inch high, forming an
arch surrounding the word "safe," with the convex side
downward. The whole combination of words and figures
forms a brand about 11 inches high and 7 inches wide.
Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.

Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has
applied, on behalf of ALFRED FELTON, FREDERICK SHEPPARD
GRIMWADE, and EDWARD BAGE, trading under the name or
style of "Felton, Grimwade, and Co.," at No. 33, Flinders
Lane West, in the City of Melbourne aforesaid, Wholesale
Chemists, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866,"
the trade marks of which the following are descriptions,
viz.:--

No. 1 consists of the representation of a cockroach.
No. 2 consists of the special and distinctive word " Buffon."

Works, Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, Preserved Provision
Manufacturers, to register under "The Trade Marks Act,
1866," a trade mark of which the following is a description,
viz.:-
Description of Trade Mark.
A picture showing in the foreground a fishing smack on the
beach with the words "Lowestoft, England," on its side, and
fishermen and women unloading the cargo, the sea and sky
forming the centre background, while to the right of such
background is seen a factory on the shore and the sea with
various fishing craft in the offing, and to the left a lighthouse
and rocks surrounded by and reflected in the sea, the name
"Maconochie Bros." being printed above across the sky in
a semi-oval line, and the title "Digby Chicks" being printed
upon a scroll displayed beneath such picture, the whole being
enclosed by two single oval border lines.
Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

of Dunedin, in the Colony of New Zealand, have
applied to register under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," a
trade mark of which the following is a description, viz. :-
Description of Trade Mark.
The words "Excelsior Lubricant," or the word "Excelsior,"
as applied in any way to any oil, lubricant, or grease, painted,
printed, written, stamped, or in any way placed upon any
tin, drum, case, or vessel containing lubricating oil or grease.
Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

Regulations for Election of Pharmacy Board.

T HE following Regulations for the conduct of elections
of members of the Pharmacy Board, having been ap-
proved by His Excellency the Governor in Council, are
published in accordance with "The Pharmacy Act, 1881."
THOMAS DICK.
WHEREAS by "The Pharmacy Act, 1880," it is provided
that every election shall be held in manner prescribed by
regulations to be made by the Board, subject to the approval
of the Governor in Council: His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, therefore, with the advice of the
Executive Council, has approved of the subjoined regula-
tions, made in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act;
that is to say,--
-
The Registrar shall conduct the elections of the mem-
bers of the Board in accordance with the provisions herein-
after made in that behalf. -
In the month of August, in the year one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three, and in the month of August, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and in the month of
August in every succeeding third year thenceforward the
Registrar shall proceed to the election of seven persons, being
registered chemists of New Zealand, to serve as members of
the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand. -
If any vacancy shall occur after the period of the first
election held under these regulations and before the triennial
election then next ensuing the Registrar shall, upon being
notified by the Board that a vacancy has occurred, proceed
to the election of a person, being a registered pharmaceutical
chemist, to fill such vacancy; and the person so elected shall
hold office until the next ensuing triennial election and no
longer. -
At every election for members to serve on the Board
the Registrar shall give twenty-one days' notice, by advertise-
ment in the New Zealand Gazette and such other papers as
may from time to time be approved of by the Board, of his
intention to proceed, on a certain day to be named in such
advertisement, to hold an election of fit and proper persons
to serve as members on such Board; and he shall also, in such
advertisement, name a day, being not less than twelve days
nor more than fifteen days prior to the day named for hold-
ing such election, on or before which all candidates for elec-
tion must be nominated as hereinafter provided; and he
shall also, in such advertisement, name the time and place
when and where such nominations will be received, and
shall sign such notice and affix the date it is given thereto. -
Any person registered as a pharmaceutical chemist in
New Zealand desirous of nominating any other person as a
candidate shall fill up a nomination paper in the form of
