Land taken for Roads in Collingwood Road District,
Provincial District of Nelson.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken under "The Public Works Act,
1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads
in the Collingwood Road District, Provincial District of
Nelson:
And whereas the Collingwood Road Board has laid before
the Governor the memorials and maps mentioned in, and
signed and certified as required by, the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
section eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the
purposes of roads; and that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely
vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all
mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind
soever, for use as roads.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasure-
ment 1 acre 1 rood 7 perches, more or less, being portion of
Section No. 4, Pakawau Township and Aorere Survey District,
commencing at the south-western corner of said section.
Bounded—North-easterly and Easterly by lines, 485, 352,
266, 333, 477, and 303 links respectively; Westerly by Paka-
wau Mud-flat; South-westerly by a line to commencing
point, 538 links.
All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasure-
ment 3 roods and 28 perches, more or less, being portion of
Section No. 92, Square 14, Pakawau Survey District, com-
mencing at the southernmost corner of said section. Bounded
-South-westerly by public road, 2383 links; North-easterly
by lines to commencing point, 418 and 1973 links respec-
tively.
All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasure-
ment 3 roods and 7 perches, more or less, being portion of
Section No. 18, Aorere Survey District, Provincial District of
Nelson, commencing at a point on a public road which bears
from the south-east corner of Section No. 191 196° 51' south-
westerly, 1724 links, and 196° 48' south-westerly, 390 links.
Bounded—South-easterly by public road, 494 and 285 links
respectively; North-westerly by lines, 295, 562, and 285
links respectively; South-easterly by public road to com-
mencing point, 390 links.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; the several
parcels of land being more particularly delineated upon the
maps attached to the memorials above referred to.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House at Wellington,
this first day of August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a certain railway was proclaimed in the
New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, under the
name of the Canterbury Great Northern Railway (part
between Addington Station and Rangiora), and the said rail-
way now forms part of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway:
And whereas the two hundred and twenty-ninth section of
"The Public Works Act, 1882," enacts that any public work
authorized under the authority of any Act repealed by this
Act, or of any Act or Ordinance repealed by "The Public
Works Act, 1876," and any land required to be taken, pur-
chased, or acquired for such work, or anything commenced
under any such authority as aforesaid, may be continued,
taken, purchased, or acquired, executed, carried out, enforced,
and completed under the provisions of this Act:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required for further portion of the said Hurunui-Waitaki
Railway:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by virtue and in pursuance of the power
conferred upon him by the one hundred and thirtieth and
ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 72, of 26th July, page 997, under appointment of Volunteer officers, for
"Alfred Augustus Fookes," read "Alfred Augustus Fooks," to be Lieutenant in the Ashburton Rifle Volunteers.
