Land taken for Road Approach to Dunedin Railway Station,
Provincial District of Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act,
1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of an
approach to the Dunedin Railway Station, Provincial District
of Otago:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before
the Governor the memorial and map mentioned in, and
signed and certified as required by, the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
section eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every
other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a
road approach to the Dunedin Railway Station; and that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so de-
scribed shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her
Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims,
estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as such road
approach.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 10.5 perches, situate in the Town of Dunedin, being
Section No. 1A, Block LII.; also that piece or parcel of land
containing by admeasurement 23.3 perches, situate in the
Town of Dunedin, being parts of Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block
LII., commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of
Castle Street distant 133.4 links in a north-easterly direction
from the intersection of Castle and Willis Streets. Bounded
-Westerly by Castle Street, 23 links; Northerly by towing
path, 199.8 links; South-easterly by other parts of said Sec-
tions Nos. 1 and 2, 235.7 links; Westerly by Section No. 1A,
118.8 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-
said linkages and areas either more or less; the said parcels
of land being more particularly delineated on a plan marked
P.W.D. 10025 attached to the memorial above referred to.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
1077

Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-fifth day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Revoking the withdrawal of Land in Otago from the
Leasing System.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands
situate within a gold field to be selected and set apart for
the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and there-
for, or for alienation by occupation licenses on deferred pay-
ments under any law for the time being in force in the land
district in which such mining district is situate :

And whereas, by Proclamation dated the thirtieth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, the
sections of land enumerated in the Schedule hereto were
withdrawn from agricultural leasing:

And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said Proclama-
tion so far as regards the four sections enumerated in the
Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
the said Proclamation of the thirtieth day of June, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-three, accordingly, so far as
regards the sections enumerated in the Schedule hereto.
