    delivery of objections thereto: Until the 15th August, 1883.
  4. Inspection of list of objections: From the 16th August
    to the 21st August, 1883.
  5. Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections:
    On the 23rd August, 1883.
  6. Burgess roll to come into force: On the 25th August,

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of
June, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order
that the Government work known as the Cambridge-Rotorua
Road shall and may be constructed on or through the several
parcels of land more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto, and delineated in the plan marked P.W.D. 10013, de-
posited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the
said colony.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the south-eastern boundary of
Section No. 5 of Maraeroa-Oturoa Block, No. 5478, in the Roto-
rua Survey District, and proceeding thence in a generally south-
easterly direction for a distance of 8 miles 69 chains or there-
abouts, and terminating at a point on the Rotorua and Tauranga
Creek, passing in, into, through, or
over the following lands: Native land and Maniaroa-Puruha
Block, No. 5171: the above-described road not to be less than 1
chain wide; as the same is more particularly delineated upon
the plan marked P.W.D. 10013, deposited in the office of the
Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial
District of Wellington.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may
declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the
dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her
Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in
Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be
granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the
authority of section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land
Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expe-
dient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof
from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set
apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised
in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated
to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the
Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention
to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may
be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which
the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my
intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve de-
scribed in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific
purpose set opposite such description in the second column of
the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
Description and Purpose of Reserve.
All that piece or parcel of land, con-
taining by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood
and 5 perches, more or less, situate in
Block V., Hawera Survey District, Pro-
vincial District of Taranaki, being part of
Section 45, Patea District, commencing
at a point 876.2 links South-east from
the north-east corner of the said section
(marked A on plan). Bounded towards
the North-east by Section 37, 845.2 links;
and towards the South-east, South-west,
and North-west by other part of the said
section, 648.7, 800, and 647 links re-
spectively, to the commencing point;
the said reserve having been made for
purposes of the General Government on
the 3rd August, 1871.

Intended Purpose.
For a site for a
cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.

with jurisdiction in New Zealand, notified.

as Acting Consul-General for Germany at Sydney, with
jurisdiction in New Zealand, during the temporary absence
from Sydney of Dr. Krauel, Consul-General.
