of Eden, validated.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day
of June, 1883.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Board of the One-Tree Hill Road District,
being desirous of making its own valuation of the rate-
able property in its district, passed a special resolution to that
effect, and forwarded a copy thereof to the Commissioner of
Property-Tax, but failed to forward a copy to the Colonial
Secretary for publication in the New Zealand Gazette, as
required by section seventy-six of "The Road Boards Act,
1882;" but the said Board have in all other respects conformed
to the provisions of the laws for the time being in force regu-
lating the preparation of said valuation roll; and it is now
expedient to validate the said roll:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The
Rating Act, 1882," doth hereby validate the valuation roll
of the One-Tree Hill Road District so made as aforesaid, and
all acts and proceedings done and taken under the said roll.

Appointment of Members of Invercargill Road Board by
Southland County Council.

land County Council, is published in accordance with "The
Road Boards Act, 1882."

SOUTHLAND COUNTY.-APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF INVER-
CARGILL ROAD BOARD.

IT is hereby notified that the Southland County Council, in
pursuance of the powers granted by section 37 of "The Road
Boards Act, 1882," did, by resolution passed at a meeting
of the said Council, duly convened and held at their office,

Invercargill, on the 8th June, 1883, appoint the following
Members of the Invercargill Road Board, namely :—
For Waihopai Subdivision : William Strong.
For Appleby Subdivision : Frederic Stone, Bernard Eken-
stein, James Melville.
For Campbelltown Subdivision : Henry Jaggers, Nicholas
Johnson, Peter McEwan.

Appointment of Member of Awatere Road Board, County
of Marlborough.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to
appoint

PHILIP RODERICK MCRAE

to be a Member of the Awatere Road Board for the Upper
Awatere Subdivision. The ratepayers of the said district
having failed to elect, and "The Counties Act, 1876," not
being in operation in the County of Marlborough, the above
appointment is made in accordance with section 37 of "The
Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882."

THOMAS TOLLATT, and

to be the Road Board for the Cust Road District. The rate-
payers in the said district having failed to elect a Board, and
"The Counties Act, 1876," not being in operation in the
County of Ashley, the above appointments are made in accord-
ance with section 37 of "The Counties Act, 1876 Amendment
Act, 1882."
