A PROCLAMATION.
I
N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the twentieth sectlon of "The Land
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I, William Francis Drum mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby set apart the land described inthe Schedule hereto for
sale as a village settlement, upon such terms and conditions a
are set forth in an Order in Council dated the eighteenth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and made:
under the twenty-first section of the said Act.

A PROCLAMATION.
W
HEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the authority of
sections one hundred and twenty-two, one hundred and
twenty-three, and one hundred and twenty-four of"The Public
Works Act, 1876/’ the middle line of a further portion of the
branch line of railway from Waipahi to Hertot Burn, from the
main line, Waitaki-Bluff Railway, being one of the railways
specified in "The Public Works Act, 1879," was defined : And
whereas pursuant to the one hundred and twenty-fifth section
of "The Public Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public
Works has caused to be made and, on the nineteenth day of
August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, to be
deposited inthe office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago, such maps and
)lans as were necessary toexplain the said further port,on’of
the said branch line of railway and the land through which the
same passes, and such maps and plans were referred to in such
Proclamation as aforesaid :And whereas "The Public Works
Act, 1879," enacts that such of the railways mentioned therein
as arc unfinished may be completed under the provisions of"The
Public Works Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act 1876 Amend ment Act, 1878," and "The Public Works Act, 1879:" And
whereas the two hundred and twenty-ninth section of "The
Public Works Act, 1882/’ enacts as follows :Any public work
authorized under the authority ofany Act repealed by this Act,
or of any Act or Ordinance repealed by "The Public ~Works
Act, 1876," and any land required to be taken, purchased, or
acquired for such work, or anything commenced under any such
authority as aforesaid, may be continued, taken, purchased, or
acquired, executed, carried out, enforced, and completed under
the provisions of this Act : And whereas the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the:said
further portion of the said branch line of railway from:W~iilmhi
to HerioVBurn, from the main line, Waitaki to Bluff:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervoi~i..the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise 0f~A~he
powers and authorities conferred by sections one hundred and
thirty and two hundred and twenty-nine of "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for
the said further portion of the said branch line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

AIJ~ that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
15 perches, being portion of Section No. 11, Block III., Town ship of Kelso Extension, situate in the Greenvale Survey
District, Provincial District of Otago, commencing at the south eastern corner of said section. Bounded as follows :Easterly
by a line, 250 links; Northerly by Herbert Street, 37 links ;
Westerly by a line, 250 links; Southerly by Section No. 5,
Block II., Township of Kelso, to commencing point, 37 links ;
be the afore-mentioned areas and linkages either more or less ;
as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked
P.W.D. 9905A, deposited inthe office of the Minister for Public
Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
