Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.
NOTICE.—JOHN WALLACE, Solicitor and Practitioner of
the Supreme Court of South Australia, at Port Adelaide,
has been appointed this day, by his Honour Mr. Justice
Williams, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zea-
land, in the said city, under "The Commissioners of the
Supreme Court Act, 1875," for the purpose of administering and
taking affidavits and acknowledgments of married women, as
in the said Act mentioned.
Dated at Dunedin, this 5th day of January, 1883.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act
for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for
gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed
Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such
lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds
of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the
Warden at Queenstown on or before the 16th day of January,
1883.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen
at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: Andrew Southberg and others. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business: "Otago Quartz-
Mining Company." 4 acres, being Section 12, Block XI., Skip-
per's Creek, in the Wakatipu Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this sixth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three.
