Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Auckland,

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto have
been purchased out of the sums authorized under "The
Immigration and Public Works Act, 1870," and Acts amending
the same, to be issued and expended in the purchase of lands in
the North Island of New Zealand, and it is expedient that the
said lands should be declared to be waste lands of the Crown:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, being satisfied that
the lands described in the Schedule hereto are free from Native
claims and all difficulties in connection therewith, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
seventeenth section of "The Waste Lands Administration Act,
1876," and the twenty-eighth section of "The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1879," and all other authorities enabling me
in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare the said lands to
be waste lands of the Crown, subject, except as in the first-
mentioned Act provided, to be sold and dealt with according to
the provisions of the laws regulating the sale and disposal of
waste lands of the Crown in force in the land districts in which
they are respectively situated.
SCHEDULE.
TE WAIKO.
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks X. and XI., Punaki-
tere Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, known by
the name of Te Waiko, containing by admeasurement 848 acres,
more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by a line, 12693
links; towards the East generally by the Awarua Block, 64
links, 519 links, 509 links, 203 links, 272 links, 359 links, 225
links, 488 links, 193 links, 234 links, 2245 links, 646 links, 475
links, 151 links, 425 links, 227 links, 446 links, 212 links, 297
links, 186 links, 150 links; towards the South by the Otaienga
Stream; towards the West generally by Te Huehue No. 2
Block, 7690 links, 3401 links, 1783 links, 2285 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less.
MAROPARAE.
All that parcel of land in the District of Hokianga, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement
241 acres 1 rood, more or less, being the portion of Te Arawha-
tatora No. 1 Block known as the Maroparae Reserve. Bounded
towards the North by the Punakitere River, by Native land
2753 links and 64 links, and again by the Punakitere River;
towards the East and South by lines, 7639 links; and towards
the West by other portion of the said Te Arawhatatotara No. 1
Block, 7493 links. (Substituted for description published in
Proclamation in Gazette No. 11, of the 7th February, 1881.)
TIKINUI.
All that parcel of land at the Wairoa, in the District of Kai-
para, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name
of Tikinui, containing by admeasurement 10,702 acres, more or
less. Bounded towards the North-east by the Wairoa River;
towards the South-east by the Taingaihe Stream, by a line, and
Sections Nos. 6, 1, and 4 of the Parish of Te Kuri, and lines,
24273 links, 6300 links, and 3622 links; towards the South-
west by the sea; and towards the North-west by a line and
Section No. 33 of the Parish of Tatarariki 28389 links, and by
the last named-section 558 links and 1592 links: save and
excepting two Native reserves containing 100 acres and 20 acres,
more or less, respectively.
RANGIWHAKAOMA NO. 2.
All that parcel of land at Tauranga, in the District of Bay of
Plenty, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the
name of Rangiwhakaoma No. 2, containing by admeasurement
1 acre 1 rood, more or less. Bounded towards the North by
the Rangiwhakaoma No. 3 Block, 650 links; towards the East
by the sea, 210 links; towards the South by the Rangi-
whakaoma No. 1 Block, 630 links; and towards the West by a
line, 192 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
AWAITI.
All that parcel of land at Tauranga, in the District of Bay of
Plenty, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the
name of Awaiti, containing by admeasurement 30 acres 2 roods,
more or less. Bounded towards the North by the sea; towards
the East by the Rangiwhakaoma No. 7 Block, 704 links and
241 links; towards the South-east by the Waikorere Block,
1424 links and 314 links; and towards the West by the
Oruahine Block, 558 links and 1426 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.
MANGAOTAWHITO NO. 3.
All that parcel of land at Waiapu, in the District of Poverty
Bay, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the
name of Mangaotawhito No. 3, containing by admeasurement
58 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the North-
east by the Poipoi Stream and by lines, 190 and 381 links;
towards the South by the Mangaotawhito No. 1 Block, 3158
links; and towards the West by the said block, 3179 links.
AORANGIWAI.
All that parcel of land at Waiapu, in the District of Poverty
Bay, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name
of Aorangiwai, containing by admeasurement 6,792 acres, more
or less. Bounded towards the North by lines, the Aorangiwai
No. 1 Block, and the Aorangiwai River, 41355 links; towards
the East by the Kokomuku Stream, the Raratea Stream, lines,
the Mangapekapeka Creek, and the Mata River, 48146 links;
towards the South by the said Mata River, 13750 links; and
towards the South-west by the Waingakia River and the
Arawhawhati Block, 49430 links: excepting out of the herein-
before described area the Umuohineturaha Block, containing
100 acres, more or less, reserved for Te Hira, Ingoa, Kore, and
co-claimants. (Substituted for description published in Procla-

WAIKOHU MATAWAI C.
All that parcel of land in the District of Poverty Bay, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Waikohu
Matawai C (Atareta Ruru's Reserve), containing by admeasure-
ment 1,362 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the
North-west by the Motu Block, 17326 links, 1012 links, and 518
links; towards the North-east by the Rangiriri Stream; towards
the South-east by the Waikohu Matawai B Block, 21554 links;
and towards the South-west by a line, 5632 links.
TE OHU OR MANAWATU NO. 3.
All that parcel of land in the Seventy-Mile Bush, Waipawa
County, Norsewood Survey District, in the Provincial District
of Hawke's Bay, known by the name of Te Ohu or Manawatu
No. 3, containing by admeasurement 2,036 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the North-west by the Te Ohu or Manawatu
No. 3A Block, 2366 links; towards the North by the Mangate-
waiiti Creek; towards the North-east by the said Te Ohu or
Manawatu No. 3A Block, 12490 links; towards the East and
South-east by the Matamau Stream; and towards the West and
South-west by the Whakaruatapu Stream.
RAKAIATAI OR MANAWATU NO. 7.
All that parcel of land in the Seventy-Mile Bush, Waipawa
County, Takapau Survey District, in the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay, known by the name of Rakaiatai or Manawatu
No. 7, containing by admeasurement 4,350 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the West and South-west by the Mangate-
wainui River, from the southern side of the railway reserve to
the bridge on the main road from Napier to Woodville; towards
the North-west by the old Native track leading from Takapau
to Tahoraite; towards the North-east by the Norsewood
Suburban Sections Nos. 23 and 12 3006 links, by lines 503
links, 464 links, 367 links, and 4147 links respectively, by
Sections Nos. 148, 149, and 150 6275 links, by Section No. 151
598 links, and by the Makotoku Stream; towards the South-
east by the Manawatu River; again towards the South-west by
the Manawatu No. 7A Block, 11160 links; and again towards
the South-east and towards the South by the southern side of
the railway reserve, 10180 links.
UMUTAOROA.
All that parcel of land in the Seventy-Mile Bush, in the Wai-
pawa and Manawatu Counties, and partly in the Provincial
District of Hawke's Bay and partly in the Provincial District
of Wellington, known by the name of Umutaoroa or Mana-
watu No. 1, containing by admeasurement 27,803 acres, more
or less, namely, 19,473 acres in the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay, and 8,330 acres in the Provincial District of
Wellington. Bounded towards the North-east by the Piripiri
or Manawatu No. 2 Block, 36420 links and 31234 links; towards
the East by the Mangatera River; towards the South-west by
the Tapuata Stream and by Tahoraite No. 2 Block, 3536 links,
2102 links, 2090 links, and 2119 links; towards the South and
South-east by Tahoraite No. 2 Block, 6823 links and 4980 links
