Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and
declare that the several times mentioned in the second column
of the Schedule hereto shall be the respective times for taking
the several steps set opposite such times in the first column of
the said Schedule respectively.

SCHEDULE.

  1. For preparing the ro]ls for ridings
    within each county in the colony under 1. Until the 15th
    section 42 of " The Counties Act, 1876." May, 1883.

  2. Time for which such rolls shall be
    open for inspection under section 46 of 2. From 20th May
    the said Act. to 15th June, 1883.

  3. Time for appeals againsthe said
    rolls under section 47 of the said Act. 3. U n t i 1 30th
    June, 1883.

  4. Assessment Courts may sit for hear
    ing applleations with reference to the said 4. Until the 20th
    rolls, and adjourn under section 48 of the July, 1883.
    said Act.

  5. Time when the said rolls, having
    been duly corrected and signed, shall 5. On the 1st
    come into force. August, 1883.

Notice of Intention to change the .Purlgose of a l~eserve.

W HEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may
declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the
dedicationf any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her
Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in
Class IL of the Schedule to tbe said Ac~, whether the same be
granted or not ; and, in the case of any reserves made under the
authority of section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land
A.ct, 1877," if it shaH, in the opinion of the Governor, be expe dient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof
from the purpose or presumed purpose for. which it was set
apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised
in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated
to one or more purposes named in the said Class IL, the
Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare hie intention
to make such change, exchange, or dedication, asthe case may
be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which
the same is intended to be so made :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond gervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by [
" The Public ReservesAct, 1881," aforesaid, declare my
intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve de scribed in the first column of the Schedule hreto to the specific
purpose set opposite such description in t Je second column of
the said Schedule.

All that parcel of land situate in the
Southland Division of the Provincial Dis trict of Otago, containing byadmeasure mcnt
10 acres, more or less, being part of
Section No. 19, Block VII., Invereargill
:ttnndred. Bounded towards lhe North west
by a public road, 1037"5 links ; on
the East by other part of said Section
:No. 19, 1138’5 links; on the South by
other part of said Section No. 19, 1000
links ; and on the West by a road, 861’8
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as shown on the record map in the
Survey Office, Invercargill. Purchased
by the Superintendent of Southland upon
trust for the public service of the Province
of Southland.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.

W HEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of
"The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the Governor
may from time to time, either by general or particular descrip tion, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve
from sa!e temporarily, notwithstandil~g that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which, in his
opinion, are required for any of the purposes in the said section
mentioned :

Now, therefore, I, "William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and a,~thorities res{ed in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Land Districts of Wellington, Marlborough, Canterbury,
and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder witten, for the
purposes in the said Schedule specified.

A:L~ that parcel of land in the Provincial District of W’el- ]ington, containing by admeasurement 84, acres 3 roods 17
perches, more or less, beiug Section No. 27, Akitio Block, East
Coast District. Bounded towards the North and East by Sec tion No. 13 882 links, by Section :No. 14~ 1400 links, by Sections
Nos. 14 and 15 4090 links, and by the Akitio River 1500 links ;
towards the South by Section No. 28, 4935 links ; and towards
the West by Sections Nee. 176 and 177, 3067 links: as deli neated on the plan of the same, deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Wellington. 17or a ferry.

All that piece or parcel of land situated in the Survey Dis trier of Wakamarina, Provincial District of Marlborough, con taining by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood, being Section No 1,
Block XIV., in the said district. Bounded--Northerly by a
public road, 320 and 526 links respectively; Easterly by
Crown land, 793 links; Southerly by Crown land, 950 links ;
and Westerly by Nuggetty Creek: be the aforesaid area and
linkages a little more et" less ; as the same is more particularly
delineated onthe ofiicial map in the Survey O/lice, Blenheim.
As a site for a courthouse.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Borough of Waimate, containing
12 acres 3 roods, more or less. Bounded--Northward by
Reserve No. 1648 (in red) ; Eastward and Westward by the
eastern and wes*ern boundary-lines thereof produced; ami
Southward by the Waimate Creek : excepting thereout a road line that passes through it, and excepting also the land required
for railway purposes which is particularly hereinafter described
and numbered 2549 (in red) on the official map in the Survey
Office, Christchurch. For an agricultural and pastoral associa tion show-ground.

The foilowing is the description of the land excepted for the
Agricultural and Pastoral Association show-ground, being re quired for railway purposes, namely :-

All that parcel of land in the Borough of Waimate, being
part of Reserve 2549 (in red), containing 2 acres and 37 perches,
and bounded as follows :On the North by a line commencing
at the south-west corner of Reserve 1648 (in red), and running
Intended :Furposo. along the southern boundary of said reserve, 1000 links ; thence
on the East by the eastern boundary-line of said reserve pro duced southerly, 50 links; thence on the South by a line
o t For a site for a bearing at an angle of 106 55 with last-mentioned line, 104,5
school, links, to the Gorge Road ; and thence on the West by a line
running along the said Gorge Road, 354 links, to commencing
point.

All that pared of laud in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situate in
the Lower Hawea District and being Section No. 50, Block I.,
of said district. Bounded towards the North by the Township
of Gladstone, I000 links ; towards the East by Section :No. 49
of same block, 1000 links ; towards the South by said Section
No. 49, 1000 links ; and towards the West by a road-line, 1000
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. :For a
cemetery.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 107 acres 1 rood 8 perches, more
or less, situate in the Lower ][tawea District, and being Section
No. 19, Block IV., of said district. Bounded towards the
North by a road-line, 2918 links ; towards the East by Sections
Nos. 16~ 17, and 18, Block I., of same district, 3750 links ;
towards the South by Sections :Nos. 2 and 3, Block V., of same
district, 2918 links ; towards the West by Section No. 18 of
enid Block IV., 8750 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more
