Defining the Middle Line of further Portion of the Wellington-
Napier Railway (Portion of Napier-Woodville Section),
and revoking Part of Line, as proclaimed on 17th Feb-
ruary, 1880.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Wellington to Napier is
one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to "The
Public Works Act, 1879," and which Act is therein declared
to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such rail-
way; and the same is unfinished, and it has been determined
to construct and maintain a further portion of such railway:
And whereas it is desired to revoke a part of the Proclama-
tion, dated the seventeenth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, defining the middle line of further
portion of the Wellington to Napier Railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and in pur-
suance of all powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf,
do hereby revoke that part of the said Proclamation of the
seventeenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty, which is described in the First Schedule hereto, and do
hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of a further por-
tion of the said railway shall be from a point on the centre-line
of railway seventy-four miles seventy-seven chains from Napier
to a point eighty-four and a half miles from Napier, all within
the Waipawa County, Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, as
defined and set forth in the Second Schedule hereto. The said
middle line and the land through which the same passes are set
forth in the map and plan marked P.W.D.9175, and authenticated
for the purposes of this Proclamation by the signature of the
Honourable Walter Woods Johnston, the Minister for Public
Works, and which said map and plan is deposited in the office
of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Napier, in the Pro-
vincial District of Hawke's Bay.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the Wellington to Napier Railway
74 miles 77 chains from Napier, as described in a Proclamation
dated the 17th February, 1880, and published in the New Zea-
land Gazette No. 18, of the 26th February, 1880, and pro-
ceeding thence in a generally south-westerly direction for a
distance of 10 miles 3 chains thereabouts, and terminating
at a point about 85 miles from Napier, in Tahoraiti Block No. 2,
passing in, through, or over the following lands: Manawatu No.
3 (Te Ohu), Manawatu No. 4B (Otanga), Manawatu No. 4
(Tiratu), Manawatu No. 4A (Tipapakuku), and Tahoraiti No. 2
Blocks; and including all adjoining and intervening places,
lands, roads, reserves, streams, rivers, and watercourses; all in
the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay and Colony of New
Zealand; as delineated on a plan marked P.W.D. 9175, which
plan is signed by the Hon. Walter Woods Johnston, and
deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
Napier, in the said provincial district.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the Wellington to Napier Railway
74 miles 77 chains from Napier, as described in a Proclamation
dated the 17th February, 1880, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 18, of the 26th February, 1880; proceeding thence in
a south-westerly direction for a distance of 9 miles 43 chains, and
terminating at a point 84 miles 40 chains from Napier, passing
in, through, or over the following lands: Manawatu No. 3 (Te
Ohu); Manawatu No. 4B (Otanga); Manawatu No. 2, Town-
ship of Danevirk; Sections Nos. 37, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28,
27, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, and 5; and terminating at a
point in Tahoraiti No. 2.; all within the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay, Colony of New Zealand; and including all ad-
joining and intervening places, lands, roads, reserves, streams,
rivers, and watercourses; in the manner delineated upon the
plan marked P.W.D. 9175, signed by the Hon. Walter Woods
Johnston, Minister for Public Works, and deposited in the
office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Napier, in the
Provincial District of Hawke's Bay; the total length being
9 miles 43 chains or thereabouts.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in
Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-third day of April, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Declaring certain Lands to be the Mikonui Water-race, and
certain Streams to be taken for the purpose of supplying
the said Water-race.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Public Works Act, 1882," it is enacted
that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified
and gazetted, declare any land therein specified, whether within
or without, or partly within and partly without, a mining
district, to be a water-race, and may declare any stream therein
specified to be taken for the purpose of supplying a water-race:
And whereas it is further enacted that the Minister shall cause
a map of such water-race to be deposited in the Warden's Court
of the district in which such land is, and such map shall be
referred to in, and shall form part of, any such Proclamation:
And whereas, for the purpose of supplying with water a portion
of the mining district known as the Westland Mining District,
