tions of the said lines of railway and the land through which
the same pass, and such maps and plans were referred to in
the Proclamations lastly herein recited: And whereas the line
of railway from Wellington to Napier is included in the Pro-
clamations last aforesaid, and is one of the railways specified in
"The Public Works Act, 1879:" And whereas it is enacted by
the Act last named that such of the railways mentioned therein
as are unfinished may be completed under the provisions of "The
Public Works Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act 1876 Amend-
ment Act, 1878," and "The Public Works Act, 1879:" And
whereas the two hundred and twenty-ninth section of "The
Public Works Act, 1882," enacts that any public work authorized
under the authority of any Act repealed by that Act, or of
Act or Ordinance repealed by "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and any land required to be taken, purchased, or acquired for
such work, or anything commenced under any such authority as
aforesaid, may be continued, taken, purchased, or acquired,
executed, carried out, enforced, and completed under the pro-
visions of the said "Public Works Act, 1882:" And whereas the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required for the said
portions of the said Wellington-Napier Railway:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by virtue and in exercise of the powers con-
ferred upon him by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of
every other power and authority in any wise enabling him in
that behalf, doth hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said portions
of the said railway from Wellington to Napier, so proclaimed
as firstly hereinbefore mentioned.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
5 acres 1 rood 18 perches, situate in the Survey Districts of
Clive and Heretaunga, County of Hawke's Bay, being portion
of the Waikahu Block, commencing at a point 563 links
distant from a public road, on a division-fence near the
Farndon Station. Bounded-Generally South-easterly by a line,
3016 links; by a public road, 3511 and 505 links respectively,
to the boundary of the Rotopounamu Block; South-westerly by
said boundary, 73 links; generally North-westerly by lines,
691, 2551, 1078, and 2720 links respectively; North-easterly
by aforesaid fence, 100 links, to starting-point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
4 acres and 5 perches, situate in the Survey District of Here-
taunga, County of Hawke's Bay, being portion of the Roto-
pounamu No. 1 Block, commencing on the boundary between
Rotopounamu No. 1 and Waikahu Blocks. Bounded-South-
easterly and Easterly by a public road, 3, 2743, 1166, and 339
links respectively; North-westerly and Westerly by lines, 1876,
2102, and 190 links respectively, to the southern boundary of
Waikahu Block; North-easterly by said boundary, 73 links, to
starting-point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 3 acres 3 roods 16 perches, situate in the Survey District
of Heretaunga, County of Hawke's Bay, being portion of the
Rotopounamu No. 1 Block, commencing at a point on south-
eastern boundary of public road to Pakowhai. Bounded-
Generally South-easterly by lines, 3049, 727, and 150 links
respectively, to the Ngaruroro River; Southerly by the Ngaru-
roro River, 100 links; generally North-westerly by lines, 150,
777, and 2849 links respectively, to aforesaid public road to
Pakowhai; North-westerly by said road, 224 links, to starting-

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 9 acres and 4 perches, situate in the Survey District of
Heretaunga, County of Hawke's Bay, being portion of the
Mangateretere West Block, commencing at a point on the right
bank of the Ngaruroro River. Bounded-South-easterly by
lines 75 and 980 links respectively, by a public road 100, 310,
and 281 links respectively, by lines 6896, 289, and 110 links to
the Ngaruroro River (old course); South-westerly by said Ngaru-
roro River, 100 links; generally North-westerly by lines, 110,
320, 6896, 569, 1016, and 50 links respectively, to Ngaruroro
River; Northerly by aforesaid river, 100 links, to starting-point.

District of Heretaunga, County of Hawke's Bay, being portion
of the Karamu Native Reserve, commencing at a point on the
road reserve, left bank of the Ngaruroro River. Bounded-
South-easterly by a line, 6736 links, to the western boundary of
the Karamu Native Reserve; Westerly by said boundary, 124
