Conditions.
- The bonus not to be given for any quantity less than 100
tons. - Notice of the intention to erect ironworks and claim the
bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st
December, 1883. - The bonus must be claimed before the 31st December,
- In the event of more than one claimant giving such
notice, not more than seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed
by the first producer, and not more than three-tenths by the
second producer; but if only one claimant becomes a producer
on the above conditions, he may claim the whole of the bonus. - The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed, and
the ore from which it is manufactured, will be examined by an
officer to be appointed by the Government, who may require
the production of bond fide account-sales of quantities not less
than 100 tons weight, showing that such iron has been sold at
a fair market price as wrought-iron.

- In the case of a jetty, or projecting wharf in a
river, sections of ground to be taken across the river,
parallel with centre line of jetty to at least 5 chains
above and below it, the first section to be taken on
centre line of proposed work, the second 1 chain dis-
tant above and below said line, and the rest above
and below at every 2 chains. - Where the jetty or wharf is to be built in a bay
or roadstead, the lines of sections must be taken as
above, extending at least 5 chains outwards from the
face of the proposed wharf. - In the case of a long wharf, parallel with the
shore of a river or bay, the sections to extend to at
least 5 chains above and below the structure and
outwards from face, as instructed under clauses 2
and 3 above, as these may apply. - In the case of a bridge, the sections to be taken
as above in every case, and extending across the river.
Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with section 144 of "The Public Works Act,
1882," I, Waiter Woods Johnston, the Minister for Public
Works, do hereby fix the following regulations and charges
for the purposes specified below, in lieu of those at present in
force, and such regulations and charges shall come into force
from and after the 19th March, 1883:—
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
PICTON SECTION.
Pelts in Casks.
Pelts (in casks) consigned to Picton for export by ship will
be charged maximum rate 7s. 6d. per ton, to include wharfage,
loading, and unloading.
PART V.—CLASSIFICATION OF GOODS.
Calf-skins, Class B. Wire, binding, Class C. Flax, straw
(owners' risk), Class F.

- All sections to be to a natural scale of 20 feet to
1 inch, and to show ordinary high- and low-water
spring tides, and the heights of same above datum;
the line of highest known flood must also be shown. - General plan and elevation (or part of each),
sufficient to show all details; also cross sections of
proposed work, scale 4 feet to 1 inch; and longitu-
dinal section to a convenient natural scale, showing
skeleton of the whole of the proposed work, with
H.W.S. and L.W.S. marked thereon. - The direction of the flow of tides and currents,
together with the ordinary and maximum rates, is to
be marked on all plans of sites. - Plans to be sent in duplicate, one copy upon
tracing cloth, which latter will be retained in the
Marine Department as a record. - The attached plans to show the positions of the
cross-sections as required under clauses numbered
2, 3, 4, 5.

IN accordance with section 144 of "The Public Works Act,
1882," I, Walter Woods Johnston, the Minister for Public
Works, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of
charges for the purpose specified below, such alterations to come
into force from and after the 2nd April, 1883:—
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
The through rates and regulations for goods of Classes A, B,
C, D, E, between Auckland and ports on the Kaipara are hereby
cancelled, and the following regulations and rates are substi-
tuted:—
Goods (consigned to or from ship only) between Auckland
and Helensville Stations will be charged: Classes A, B, C, D,
15s. per ton; Class E, 10s. per ton, weight or measurement,
wharfage at Helensville included. Ships to place in, and take
delivery of goods from, trucks at Helensville Wharf.
