WROUGHT-IRON.
A bonus of one thousand pounds (£1,000) will be given for
the production, in New Zealand, by a direct process, of 200
tons of " iron blooms," of marketable quality, from ore produced
in New Zealand.
Conditions.
- The bonus not to be given for any quantity less than 100
tons. - Notice of the intention to erect ironworks and claim the
bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st
December, 1883. - The bonus must be claimed before the 31st December,
- In the event of more than one claimant giving such
notice, not more than seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed
by the first producer, and not more than three-tenths by the
second producer; but if only one claimant becomes a producer
on the above conditions, he may claim the whole of the bonus. - The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed, and
the ore from which it is manufactured, will be examined by an
officer to be appointed by the Government, who may require
the production of bona fide account-sales of quantities not less
than 100 tons weight, showing that such iron has been sold at
a fair market price as wrought-iron.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent
Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has
applied, on behalf of HOLMES SAMUEL CHIPMAN, of Melbourne
aforesaid, Merchant, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act,
1866," the trade mark of which the following is a description,
viz.:-
Description of Trade Mark.
The special and distinctive word "Buckeye."
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.
Mowing machines, combined with table rake or reaper or
dropper; reaping and binding machines, thrashing machines,
and other agricultural implements.

Resolved, That the boundaries of Papakaio Riding be as
follows: Bounded towards the North by the Waimate County;
towards the South-east by the ocean; towards the South by the
Town of Oamaru; towards the West by Oamaru Stream to the
northern boundary of Block XIII., Oamaru Survey District;
thence due west to Block VIII., Awamoko Survey District;
thence due North to the north-east corner of Section No. 58, Block
IV; thence along road to north corner of said section; thence
by centre of road-line through Block IV. to Section No. 22,
Block V., same district; and towards the West by the western
boundaries of Block I., and part of Block IV., Awamoko
District.

certify that the above resolution has been duly made.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with section 144 of "The Public Works Act,
1882," I, Walter Woods Johnston, the Minister for Public
Works, do hereby fix the following scale of charges for the
purposes specified below, in lieu of that at present in force, and
such scale shall come into force from and after the 12th day of
February, 1883 :-
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
WELLINGTON AND WANGANUI SECTIONS.
Class K.—Timber.
White-pine timber consigned from sawmills to Wanganui,
Foxton, and Wellington for shipment direct to Australian ports
will be charged 25 per cent, less than the rates for timber for
transhipment; minimum rate, 8d. per 100 superficial feet.
Consignments to these ports for transhipment to Australia will
be charged the same rate, upon a statutory declaration being fur-
nished, such declaration being made under "The Justices of the
Peace Act, 1882," sections 233 and 234, in the form prescribed.
