Notice of intention to Exchange Land at Blenheim.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may
declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the
dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her
Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in
Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be
granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the
authority of section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land
Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expe-
dient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof
from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set
apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised
in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to
one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor
may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make
such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and
in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same
is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my inten-
tion to exchange the land described in the first column of the
said Schedule hereto for the land described in the second column
of the said Schedule.

FIRST COLUMN.
All that piece or parcel of
land containing by admeasure-
ment 23 perches, more or less,
situated in the Borough of
Blenheim, in the Provincial
District of Marlborough, being
part of an allotment marked
"Customhouse Reserve" on the
plan of the subdivision of Sec-
tion No. 46, Opawa, in the said
provincial district, commencing
at the north-west corner of Allot-
ment No. 205 of said subdivi-
sion. Bounded-Westerly by
Stuart Street, 694 links;
thence Westerly by other part
of first-mentioned allotment,
199-9 links; thence Easterly
by Allotment No. 206 of said
subdivision, 75 links; thence
Southerly by said Allotment No.
205, 200 links, to com-
mencing point: as the same is
more particularly delineated
on the plan deposited in the
office of the Chief Surveyor:
be the said dimensions a little
more or less.

be reserved and set apart for such last-mentioned specific pur-
pose, and no other.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve.

FIRST COLUMN.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Hawke's Bay, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre and 16 perches,
more or less, situate in Block IX., Takapau
Survey District. Bounded towards the
North-east by the Norsewood Road, 641
links; and towards the South and West
by public roads, 382 and 585 links respec-
tively: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixth day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-three.

Shooting Season for Deer in Nelson.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals Pro-
tection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection Act
Amendment Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that stags may be taken or killed within the Nelson District
from the tenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three, to the tenth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three, both inclusive; and I do hereby
notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said
district shall be issued on payment of the sum of one pound
each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on
payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Post-
master at Nelson is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this third day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-three.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries Act,
1882," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JOHN MEE
to be a Trustee, in the place of Herbert Belfield, resigned, to
provide for the maintenance and care of the Timaru Cemetery,
in conjunction with the other persons appointed by warrant
under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government on the twenty-eighth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirty-first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.
