THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by section four of "The
Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that, from and
after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become
vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the
Lake County, in trust for a ferry.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, containing
by admeasurement 12 acres and 33 perches, more or less, situate
in the Shotover District, being Sections numbered respectively
1 and 2, Block I., on the map of the said district. Bounded
towards the North-east by Section No. 22, 1185 links; towards
the South-east by a reserve along the Kawarau River, 1100
links; towards the South-west by said reserve, 1190 links;
and towards the North-west by Section No. 3, 816 links: as the
same is more particularly delineated on the plans in the Survey
Office, Dunedin.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of
February, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby
revoke a certain Order in Council dated the ninth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty, making delegation of
certain powers in manner as therein appears, and doth, with
the like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but
only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in
the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act afore-
said, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and
twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be
known as the Coalgate Public Domain Board, viz.,—
KENNETH WILSON,
DAVID MANSON,
ALEXANDER BEATTIE,
JAMES LANGDALE, and
GEORGE DAVIDSON
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipulations
hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the last Friday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m., at the
Coalgate Hotel, or at such other time or place as may from
time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be
held on Friday, the twenty-third day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by
any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice
of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the busi-
ness to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other
business than that so specified shall be transacted at such
meeting. -
Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
Monday in December in every succeeding year thereafter, elect
one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discus-
sion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The
Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time
appointed for holding the same, the members present shall
choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such
meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the
office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may
at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes
of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hororata Survey District, Provincial
District of Canterbury, containing 28 acres 1 rood, more or less.

Bounded—Northward by the White Cliffs Railway Reserve, 15
chains; Eastward by Reserve 1814 (in red), 15 chains; West-
ward by Section 14989, 16 chains 70 links; and Southward by
Section 22918, 22 chains 70 links: and numbered 2409 (in red)
on the official map in the Provincial District Survey Office,
Christchurch.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land situate in the Mandeville District, near
Kaiapoi, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing
15 acres and 32 perches, more or less, commencing at a point
on the North Road, the same being the north-west corner of
Section No. 338E, following along the said road in a northerly
direction a distance of 19 chains, and running back easterly a
distance of 8 chains in a rectangular block; and numbered 74
(in red) on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Provincial
District of Canterbury, setting out and describing the rural land
in the Mandeville District aforesaid.
