Road District Boundary Descriptions




Subdivision No. 1.
Bounded towards the North-east generally by the northern
and eastern boundary-lines of Campbelltown from the Wa-
nganui River to the south side of No. 2 Road-line; thence by
the south side of the said road-line to the north-east corner
of Section 33, Block VI., Ikitara Survey District; thence by
Section 34, said block and survey district; thence by Sections
34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, and 42, of said Block VI.; thence
towards the South-east by Sections 136, 137, 138, 139, 141, of
said Block VI., Sections 143, 144, 145, 146, of Block X.; thence
again towards the North-east and East by said Section 146,
and by Sections 147 and 250, Block XI.; thence towards the
South-east by a line along the middle of the Wangaehu
River to its mouth; thence towards the South-west by the
sea to the mouth of the Wanganui River; and thence towards
the North-west by a line along the middle of the Wanganui
River aforesaid to a point opposite to the north-west corner
of Campbelltown aforesaid; and thence by a right line to the
said north-west corner of Campbelltown.

Subdivision No. 2.
Bounded towards the North-west by Section 42, Block VI.,
Ikitara Survey District, and the production of its eastern
boundary-line to the north side of No. 2 road-line; thence
towards the North-east generally by the north side of the
said road-line to the south-east corner of Section 194, Block
VIII., said Ikitara Survey District; thence by that section
and by the northern boundary-line of Section 248, Block XII.,
Ikitara Survey District, to the Wangaehu River; thence
towards the South-east by a line along the middle of the said
Wangaehu River to a point opposite to the south-east corner
of Section 200 in Block XI., Ikitara Survey District afore-
said; and thence generally towards the West by Subdivision
No. 1, hereinbefore described.

Subdivision No. 3.
Bounded towards the North by the Mangawhero Road
District, before described, to Section 352, Block III., Ikitara
Survey District; thence towards the East by Sections 352,
361, 362, 365, 363, 206, and 199, of said Block III., and Sections
271, 59A, and 58, of Block VII., Ikitara Survey District;
thence towards the South-west generally by Subdivisions
Nos. 2 and 1, hereinbefore described, to the Wanganui River;
thence towards the North-west and West by a line along the
middle of the said Wanganui River to a point opposite to the
south-west corner of the Waipakura Native Reserve afore-
said; and thence by a right line to the said south-west corner
of that reserve.

Subdivisions Nos. 4 and 5 of the original district are can-
celled, as being included in the Mangawhero and Upper
Wangaehu Road Districts.

Subdivision No. 4 (old No. 6).
Bounded towards the North generally by the Mangawhero
Road District, hereinbefore described; towards the East by
a line along the middle of the Wangaehu River to a point
opposite the north-western corner of Section 245, Block V.,
Wangaehu Survey District; towards the South-west generally
by a right line to the north-western corner aforesaid; thence
by a right line to the eastern corner of Section 319, Block
VIII., Ikitara Survey District; thence by said Section 319
and by Sections 325, 326, and 327, Block IV., to the Kaukatea
Stream; thence by the said Kaukatea Stream till it inter-
sects a line bearing east (magnetic) from the south-east
corner of Section 292, Block II., Ikitara Survey District;
thence by that line to Subdivision No. 3, hereinbefore de-
scribed; and towards the West by that subdivision to the
Mangawhero Road District aforesaid.

Subdivision No. 5 (old No. 7).
Bounded towards the North generally by Subdivision No. 4,
hereinbefore described; towards the East generally by a line
along the middle of the Wangaehu River; towards the South
generally by Subdivision No. 2, hereinbefore described; and
towards the West generally by Subdivision No. 3, hereinbefore
described, to Subdivision No. 4 aforesaid.

AMENDED BOUNDARIES OF RIDINGS IN COUNTY OF
WANGANUI.

Mangawhero Riding.
COMPRISES all that area included within the Mangawhero and
Upper Wangaehu Road Districts, as above described.

Mataongaonga Riding.
Comprises all that area included within Subdivision No. 3
of Wangaehu Road District, as above described.

Kaukatea Riding.
Comprises all that area included in Subdivisions Nos. 4
and 5 of Wangaehu Road District, as above described.

Special Order made by Wairarapa East County Council.—
Pahiatua Road District constituted.

THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa East
County Council, is published in accordance with "The
Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
SPECIAL order constituting the Pahiatua Road District, made
by the County Council of East Wairarapa, on the 14th
September, 1883:—
This Council hereby, by special order, declares those por-
tions of the Masterton Road District and Castlepoint Road
District situate in the County of Wairarapa East, compris-
ing one continuous area, and contained within the following
boundaries—that is to say: Commencing at a point where
the northern boundary of the Wellington Provincial-District
crosses the summit of the Puketoi Range; and bounded
towards the North-east by Waipawa County to Oroua County;
thence towards the North-west by Oroua County to the
easternmost corner of Manawatu County on the Tararua
Range; thence towards the South-west and South generally
by a straight line to the north-west corner of Section No. 20,
Block XIV., Mangahao Survey District, by the north-eastern
boundary of that section and of Sections Nos. 20A and 25 of
Block II., and Section No. 6 of Block III., to Section No. 7
of Block III., Mangaone Survey District, and by the north-
west boundary of the last-mentioned section to Mount Heale
Trig. Station; thence by the north-eastern boundaries of
Sections Nos. 7, 8, and part of Section No. 9 in the same
block to Section No. 29, Block III., Mangaone Survey Dis-
trict; thence by the western boundary of the last-mentioned
section to its north-west corner; thence by the northern
boundaries of Sections Nos. 29 and 31, Block III., and Sec-
tion 31A, Block IV., Mangaone Survey District, and across a
public road to the Mangaone Stream; thence towards the
South-east generally by a straight line in a north-easterly
direction to trig. station, Puketoi; and thence by the summit
of the Puketoi Range to the point of commencement—shall
constitute a new road district to be called "the Pahiatua
Road District." That the number of Wardens for the Pahia-
tua Road District shall be seven, but the said new district
shall not be divided into subdivisions.

I hereby certify that the special order of the Wairarapa
East County Council constituting the Pahiatua Road Dis-
trict has been duly made in accordance with the provisions
of "The Counties Act, 1876," and its amendments, and "The
Road Boards Act, 1882."

CASTLEPOINT ROAD DISTRICT (AMENDED).
All that area in the Provincial District of Wellington
bounded towards the North by the Waipawa County from
the point where the northern boundary of the said provincial
district crosses the summit of the Puketoi Range to the
mouth of the Waimata Stream on the East Coast; thence
towards the South-east by the ocean to the mouth of the
Whareama River; thence towards the South-west by that
river to its confluence with the Waihora Stream; thence
again towards the South-east by that stream to the western-
most corner of Section No. 679, Rewa Survey District;
thence by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section
No. 669, Rewa Survey District aforesaid; thence again
towards the South-west by that section to the Kaumingi
Stream, and by that stream to the Taueru River; thence
towards the North-west by that river to the north-western
corner of Section No. 157, Mangapakeha Survey District;
thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section
No. 128, Puketoi Survey District, and by that section and
Section No. 127, Puketoi Survey District aforesaid, to the
Waitawhiti Stream; thence again towards the South-west
and towards the West by that stream and the Tiraumea
River to the Pahiatua Road District hereinbefore described,
and thence by the Pahiatua Road District aforesaid to the
place of commencement.

Subdivision No. 4 (amended).
Bounded towards the North-west generally by the Pahiatua
Road District hereinbefore described from the Tiraumea River
