County of Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The Town Districts Act 1881 Amend-
ment Act, 1883," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the Town District of Stratford, situated in
the Counties of Taranaki and Hawera, shall be deemed to
be included in the County of Taranaki. And I do hereby
further proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the
Counties of Taranaki and Hawera shall respectively be those
described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COUNTY OF TARANAKI
Is bounded towards the North-west and North by the County
of Kawhia from the ocean to Mount Rangitoto; thence
towards the East by a right line to the source of the Onga-
ruhe River, and thence by a line along the middle of the
Ongaruhe, of the Ngahuinga (or Tuhua), and of the Wanga-
nui Rivers to the confluence of the last-mentioned river with
the Tangarakau River; thence towards the South by a right
line to the eastern corner of the Mangaotuku Block; thence
by the southern boundary of that block to its south-west
corner; thence by a right line to the eastern corner of the
Ahuroa Block, and by the eastern boundary of the latter
block to the Patea River; thence by a line along the middle
of the Patea River to the Town District of Stratford; thence
by Swansea Road, Warwick Road, and Brecken Road to the
middle of the Patea River; and thence by a line along the
middle of that river to its source near Mount Egmont, by a
right line to the summit of Mount Egmont, by a right line
thence to the source of the Taungatara River, and by a line
along the middle of the last-mentioned river to its mouth;
and towards the South-west and again towards the North-
west by the ocean to the mouth of the Mokau River, the
place of commencement.
COUNTY OF HAWERA
Is bounded towards the North-west and North by the
County of Taranaki from the mouth of the Taungatara River
to the south-eastern boundary-line of the Ahuroa Block;
thence towards the North-east by a line along the middle of
the Patea River to where it last crosses the confiscation
boundary-line; thence towards the South-east by a right
line to the source of the Manawapou River, and by a line
along the middle of that river to the ocean; and towards
the South-west by the ocean to the place of commencement..
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-first day of November, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three.

THE following special orders, made by the Whangarei
County Council, are published in accordance with
"The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDERS.
SPECIAL orders passed by the Whangarei County Council on
Wednesday, the 19th September, 1883:-
Resolved, That a new road district, to be called the Otaika
Road District, be constituted out of a portion of the Maunu
Road District, in compliance with a petition from the rate-
payers setting forth the boundaries; and that the number of
members be five.
Resolved, That a new district, to be called the Glenbervie
Road District, be constituted out of portions of the Whanga-
rei and Whareora Districts, in accordance with a petition
from the ratepayers, setting forth the boundaries. The
number of members to be five.
Resolved, That a new district, to be called the Otonga East
Road District, be constituted out of a portion of the outlying
