Mining Notices.

To the Mining Registrar, at Clyde, of the Dunstan District,
and all other persons whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a water-race,
as shown in plan of Block II, Tiger Hill Survey Dis-
trict, and divert two heads of water for irrigation purposes,
commencing at a point in Muddy Creek, in Section 48, Block
II., Tiger Hill, and running through Sections 50, 49, 51, 53,
54, and 32, and terminating at Section 30, Block II., Tiger
Hill (the race is already constructed). Length, 5 miles;
breadth, 2 feet; depth, 1 foot. Dated at Black's, this 8th
day of October, 1883.

To the Mining Registrar at Naseby of the Mount Ida Mining
District, and all other persons whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-
race, and divert water for purposes of irrigation and
driving machinery, commencing at a point in the Cross Eden
Creek distant about 90 chains in a north-easterly direction
from my dwellinghouse at Maniatoto Station, said race
being about two miles and three quarters long, and terminat-
ing at a point in the eastern boundary of Section No. 2,
Block II., Gimmerburn District, distant about 60 chains
from the north-eastern angle of said section; said race being
of the mean breadth of 20 inches and depth of 8 inches; and
that it is intended to divert and carry in the said race two
heads of water; and that the said race is to be completed
within two calendar months of the day of the date hereof.
Dated at Maniatoto Station aforesaid, this 3rd day of
October, 1883.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register
the Empire Quartz-Mining Company as a Limited
Company, under the provisions of "The Mining Companies
Act, 1872."

  1. The name of the company is to be the Empire Quartz-
    Mining Company (Limited).

  2. The place of operations is on a lease known as the
    Empire Gold-Mining Lease, Mohikinui, County of Buller,
    Colony of New Zealand.

  3. The registered office of the company will be situated at
    Lyell.

  4. The nominal capital of the company is twenty-thou-
    sand pounds, in twenty thousand shares of one pound each.

  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twenty thou-
    sand.

  6. The number of paid-up shares is nil.

  7. The amount already paid up is ten thousand pounds.

  8. The name of the Manager is James Inglis.

  9. The names and addresses and occupations of the share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at this date,

Company (Limited), duly convened and held at Mr. Bull's
Office, Pakington Street, Westport, on Tuesday, the 16th
October instant, a resolution was unanimously passed
declaring the company to have been fairly wound up.

LAND TO BE TAKEN FOR THE BEACH ROAD, KAI-
KOURA, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF "THE
PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1882."

NOTICE is hereby given by the Kaikoura County Council
that the owner of Section No. 93, Kaikoura Township,
having stopped the Beach Road which passes through the
said section, it is the intention of the said Council to acquire
such portion of the said land as is described in the Schedule
hereto; and notice is further given that a copy of the plan
of the said land so intended to be taken is deposited in the
office of the Council, at the Courthouse, Kaikoura, and is
there open for inspection; and all persons affected by the
taking of the said land, if they have any well-grounded ob-
jection to such taking, are hereby required to set forth such
objections in writing, and to send such writing within forty
days of the first publication of this notice to the Clerk of
the Kaikoura County Council, Kaikoura.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Section No. 93, on the Government plan
of the Town of Kaikoura, bounded on the North, 851 links,
by the Beach Road; on the South, 473 links, by Torquay
Street; and on the South-west, 414 links, by a straight line
passing through and dividing the said section; and contain-
ing 2 roods 5 perches: be the said area and several linkages
a little more or less.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which,
prior to the month of March, 1877, existed between
the undersigned CHARLES RITCHIE HOWDEN, of Dunedin,
WILLIAM FRASER, of Earnscleugh Station, and THOMAS
ARCHIBALD FRASER, of Hawea Station, in the business of
Sheepfarmers, on and in connection with the Hawea Station,
Hawea Lake, was in that month dissolved, and does not now
exist.
