Altering Boundaries of Resident Magistrate's District of
Wanganui, and abolishing District of Manawatu.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor
from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette
, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part
thereof, districts to be called Resident Magistrates' districts,
and such districts from time to time to abolish, and the
boundaries to define and alter, and in any such Proclamation
to fix a time on and from which any such district shall be
constituted or abolished, as the case may be:

And whereas by Proclamations bearing date the twenty-
fourth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
nine, and the third day of November, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in
him, did define the boundaries of the Resident Magistrates'
Districts of Manawatu and Wanganui, as described in the
said Proclamations respectively, to be Resident Magis-
trates' districts within the meaning and for the purpose of
the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the said District of
Manawatu, and to alter the boundaries of the said District of
Wanganui so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me
as aforesaid, do hereby abolish the said District of Mana-
watu, and alter the boundaries of the said District of Wa-
nganui, as described in the Schedule hereto, as and from the
first day of November proximo.

SCHEDULE.

WANGANUI.

BOUNDED towards the North-west and West generally
by the Resident Magistrates' Districts of Patea and
Taranaki, as described in a Proclamation of even date
herewith, from the mouth of the Waitotara River to the
northern boundary of the Kirikau Block; thence towards
the North-east generally by the Counties of West Taupo,
East Taupo, and Hawke's Bay, to the summit of the Ruahine
Range; thence towards the South-east by the Counties of
Waipawa, Wairarapa East, and Wairarapa West; towards
the South by the County of Hutt; and again towards the
West and towards the South-west by the ocean to the place
of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this sixteenth day of October, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three.

Governor, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities so vested in him, did define the boundaries of the
Resident Magistrates' Districts of Raglan, Wellington, and
Taupo as described in the said Proclamations respectively:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the
said districts so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me as
aforesaid, do hereby alter the boundaries of the said Districts
of Raglan, Wellington, and Taupo respectively as described
in the Schedule hereto as and from the first day of November
proximo.

RAGLAN.

BOUNDED towards the North by the Resident Magis-
trate's District of Waiuku, as described in the New
Zealand Gazette
No. 69, 21st December, 1867; towards the
North-east generally by the Resident Magistrate's District of
Waikato, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 30,
30th March, 1882; towards the South-east by the Resident
Magistrate's District of Taranaki, as described in a Procla-
mation of even date herewith; and towards the West by the
ocean.

WELLINGTON.

Bounded towards the North by the Resident Magis-
trate's District of Wanganui, as described in a Procla-
mation of even date herewith; towards the East and South-
east by the County of Wairarapa West; and towards the
South-west and North-west by the ocean.

TAUPO.

Bounded towards the North and North-west by the
Resident Magistrate's District of Waikato, as described
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 30, 30th March, 1882;
towards the East and North-east by the Resident Magis-
trates' Districts of Maketu and Opotiki, as described in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 78, 12th August, 1880; towards the
South-east generally by the Resident Magistrate's District of
Wairoa, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 78,
12th August, 1880, and the Resident Magistrate's District
of Napier and Waipukurau, as described in the New Zealand
Gazette
No. 106, 11th November, 1880; towards the South-
west generally by the Resident Magistrate's District of
Wanganui; and towards the North-west by the Resident
Magistrate's District of Taranaki, as described in Proclama-
tions of even date herewith.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four of "The Wanganui Harbour
Endowment and Borrowing Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Waste Lands Board may from time to time deal
with and dispose of the lands described in the First Schedule
to that Act in like manner as other waste lands of the Crown
within the district may be sold, dealt with, or disposed of:

And whereas by the fifty-third section of "The Land Act,
1877," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in
the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any
suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land
as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on de-
ferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and that he
may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by
