Altering Boundaries of Counties of Waitemata and Rodney.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN N exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in me by
section seven of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment
Act, 1882," and of all other powers and authorities enabling
me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from
and after the ninth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three, all that portion of land men-
tioned and described in the First Schedule hereto shall be
added to the County of Waitemata, and that from and after
the aforesaid date the boundaries of the said County of Wai-
temata shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto,
and that from and after the aforesaid date the boundaries of
the County of Rodney shall be those set forth in the Second
Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TAKEN FROM THE COUNTY OF RODNEY
AND ADDED TO THE COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded
towards the North-west by the Parishes of Makarau and
Puhoi, and by a line along the middle of the Waiwerawera
River to its mouth; towards the East by the ocean to the
Orewa River; thence towards the South and South-east by
that River and Waterloo Creek to the northern corner of
Section No. 225, Parish of Waiwera; thence by that section
and Sections Nos. 58, 14, and 50, said Parish of Waiwera, to
the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section;
thence by a right line to the south side of the road at the
northern corner of Section No 253, Parish of Pukeatua;
thence by the southern side of the road forming the north-
western boundary of Section No. 253 aforesaid and the north-
western boundaries of Sections Nos. 252, 251, and 250, Parish
of Pukeatua aforesaid; thence by the eastern side of the
road forming the western boundary of the last-mentioned
section and of Section No. 249; thence by the southern side
of the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos.
94, 93, 92, 91, 89, 88, 87, 86, 85, and 84 of the last-mentioned
parish; thence towards the East by the last-mentioned sec-
tion to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 306, Parish of
Pukeatua; thence again towards the South and towards the
South-west by the Waipapa-Kauri Stream to its confluence
with the Kaukapakapa River; thence by that river to the
eastern boundary-line of Section No. 64, Parish of Kaukapa-
kapa; thence towards the West by that section and the

No. 65 of the last-mentioned parish; thence by Sections Nos.
62, 59, 56, 51, and 26, all of the Parish of Kaukapakapa afore-
said, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned sec-
tion; thence towards the North and East by the northern
and eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 27; thence again
towards the North by Section No. 28, Parish of Kaukapakapa
aforesaid, to the Parish of Waiwera; thence again towards
the West generally by the parish of Kaukapakapa aforesaid,
and the Parish of Makarau aforesaid.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
COUNTY OF RODNEY

Is bounded towards the North generally by Hobson and
Whangarei Counties; towards the North-east and South-east
by the ocean to the Waiwerawera River; thence towards the
South by a line along the middle of that river to the Parish
of Waiwera, and by that Parish to the Parish of Makarau;
thence towards the West and South-east by the latter parish
and by a line along the middle of the Makarau River to Kai-
para Harbour; and towards the South-west by that harbour
and the Wairoa River to Hobson County aforesaid.

THIRD SCHEDULE.
COUNTY OF WAITEMATA

Is bounded towards the North-west, North-east, and again
towards the North-west by Rodney County, hereinbefore
described, and the Hauraki Gulf; towards the East by the
said Hauraki Gulf; towards the South and again towards
the East by Waitemata Harbour, and by a line along the
middle of the Whau Creek to the Whau Portage Road, and
by that road to Manukau Harbour; towards the South-east
by the said Manukau Harbour; and towards the South-west
and again towards the North-east by the ocean and Kaipara
Harbour to Rodney County aforesaid.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this ninth day of October, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.
