OTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS,
Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of
Victoria, has applied, on behalf of the firm of
HEIDSIECK AND COMPANY, trading as Champagne
Growers, at Reims, in France, to register, under
"The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks
numbered from 1 to 6, of which the following is a
description, viz. :-

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 consists of the special and distinctive word
MONOPOLE

No. 2 consists of the special and distinctive words
DRY MONOPOLE

No. 3 consists of the name
HEIDSIECK & CO.

No. 4 consists of a label bearing the name "Heid-
sieck & Co.;" beneath which name are the words and
abbreviations "Fournisseurs brevetés de S. M.
l'Empereur d'Allemagne;" lower down is the word
"Reims;" beneath which again are the words and
figures "Established 1785." In the uppermost por-
tion of the label is a blank space in which is inserted
the name of the particular brand of champagne to
which the label is to be applied.

No. 5 consists of a device of circular shape, in the
centre of which is the representation of a comet;
around the comet are the words "Heidsieck & Co.,
Reims," all enclosed by a single plain-line border.

No. 6 consists of the representation of an anchor.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such
Trade Marks shall apply.

Victoria, has applied, on behalf of ARELIUS BRUCE
MITCHELL, SARAH MITCHELL, ALFRED CONSTANS
MITCHELL, THEODORE ALBERT MITCHELL, and
FRANCIS WILLIAM VICTOR MITCHELL, trading as
"William Mitchell," at 13 and 14, Cumberland
Street, Birmingham, in the County of Warwickshire,
and at 44, Cannon Street, London, in the County of
Middlesex, in England, to register, under "The Trade
Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks numbered 1 and
2, of which the following is a description, viz. :-

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 consists of a monogram composed of the
letters "WM," with the device of a pen passing
horizontally through it.

No. 2 consists of an oblong label, in the centre of
which is a coat of arms consisting of a shield with a
sword and mace behind it, and on either side of it
a griffin, and on the ribbon below it the motto
"Domine Dirige Nos. —"

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such
Trade Marks shall apply.

Embossing presses and parts of such presses and
balances generally, cases of mathematical instru-
ments, knives, scissors, and quill-pen-making ma-
chines; metal goods, namely, call-bells, safes, cash-
and deed-boxes, string-boxes, gold, silver, aluminum,
bronze, and electro-plated pen- and pencil-cases; also
pens and penholders made of gold, silver, and other
precious metals, and electro-plated pens and pencil-
cases, despatch-boxes, copying-presses, letter-balances,
steel and metallic (excepting those made of the pre-
cious metals) pens and penholders, pen and pencil-
cases combined, pen- and pencil-cases and knives,
pen-trays, stationery cases and cabinets, paper-
weights and markers, inkstands, ink-bottles, elastic
bands, letter-cages, date- and invoice-racks, pen-racks,
and paper files and clips, wafer-seals, marking-ink,
camel-hair brushes, ticket-holders, paper-fastenings,
and other stationery articles; carved or ornamented
ivory, wood, and bone pen- and pencil-cases; and for
all other goods in the stationery trade.
