    pany.

  3. The above statement is, to the best of my belief
    and knowledge, true in every particular; and I make
    this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the
    same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the
    General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The
    Justices of the Peace Act, 1866."

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to
register the Lord Edward Gold-Mining Com-
pany as a Limited Company under the provisions of
"The Mining Companies Act, 1872."

  1. The name of the Company is to be the Lord Edward Gold-
    Mining Company (Limited).
  2. The place of intended operations is at Big River, County
    of Inangahua, Colony of New Zealand.
  3. The registered office of the Company will be in Broadway,
    Reefton, in the county and colony aforesaid.
  4. The nominal capital of the Company is twenty-four thou-
    sand pounds, in twenty-four thousand shares of one pound each.
  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twenty-four thou-
    sand, being the entire number of shares in the Company.
  6. The number of paid-up shares is nil.
  7. The amount of capital considered to be paid up is twelve
    thousand pounds.
  8. The name of the Manager is Patrick Brennan.

pany as a Limited Company under the provisions of

    Gold-Mining Company (Limited).

  2. The place of operations is at Advance Peak Range, near
    Macetown, Lake County, New Zealand.

  3. The registered office of the Company will be situated in
    Anglesea Street, Arrowtown.

  4. The nominal capital of the Company is twenty-four thou-
    sand pounds, in twenty-four thousand shares of one pound each.

  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twenty-four
    thousand, being not less than two-thirds of the entire number
    of shares in the Company.

  7. The amount already paid up has been estimated by the

COLLINGWOOD ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE UNDER "THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1876."

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of
the Collingwood Road Board to take certain
lands, hereinafter particularly described, for the pur-
pose of constructing roads; and all persons affected
are hereby requested to set forth in writing any well-
grounded objection to the execution of such work or
to the taking of such lands, and to send such objec-
tions in writing within forty days from the date of
publication hereof to the Chairman of the Colling-
wood Road Board. And notice is further given that
the plans of the said lands and works have received
the approval of the Chief Surveyor at Nelson, and
are open for inspection at the store of Mr. William
Calverly Riley, in Collingwood.

Description of Land.

A. All that parcel of land part of Section 18,
Aorere, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 27
perches, more or less, commencing at a point on the
public road now in use which bears from the south-
