Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicant specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Arrowtown on or
before the 27th day of September, 1882.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Arrowtown.

SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: James Cowan. Style under which it is
intended to conduct the business: "The New Chan-
nel Gold-Mining Company." 6 acres, in the Waka-
tipu Mining District.

*In the event of any other person than the applicant being the pur-
chaser, the cost of survey must be paid at the auction by the purchaser, to
be handed over to the applicant.

One-fourth of the purchase-money of the above
sections must be paid at the auction, and the balance
within one month, or the money paid at the auction
will be forfeited. A deposit to cover the Crown-
grant fee for each section must be paid when the
purchase is completed.
