In the matter of “The Joint-Stock Companies Act, 1860,” and the amendments thereof; and in the matter of GUTHRIE AND LARNACH’S NEW ZEALAND TIMBER AND WOODWARE FACTORIES COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that, at an extraordinary general meeting of the Shareholders of the above-named Company, held on Tuesday, the twenty-second day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, a resolution was passed confirming the following special resolution passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the Shareholders, held at Dunedin, on the tenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two: “That Guthrie and Larnach’s New Zealand Timber and Woodware Factories Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of ‘The Joint-Stock Companies Act, 1860.’”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS.

WHEREAS, under the authority of “The Public Works Act, 1876,” and of the several Acts amending the same, or one of them, the Road Board of the South Rakaia District, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand (hereinafter called “the said Board”), is empowered to take lands within the district for the purposes of constructing and executing district works:

And whereas the said Board, in pursuance of such powers as aforesaid, is desirous of taking certain lands, being portions of the sections herein referred to, for the purpose of constructing a certain public road or highway in the said district:

Notice is hereby given that the said Board intend to take, for the purposes of constructing a public road or highway, all that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 3 perches, or thereabouts, be the same more or less, being part of the Section numbered 5732 on the official map of the said Rakaia District, as the same is more particularly delineated and described in a certain plan deposited under the provisions of “The Land Transfer Act, 1870,” and the amendments thereto, in the office of the District Land Registrar of the District of Canterbury, and therein numbered 643; and also all that other parcel of land, containing 13 acres and 14 perches of the like measurement, and being part of the Native Reserve numbered 2058 in the said official map of the said Rakaia District, and which is more particularly described and delineated in the plan so deposited as aforesaid; and also all that other parcel of land, containing 2 acres 3 roods 32 perches of the like measurement, and being other portion of the said Native Reserve numbered 2058 as aforesaid, and as the said last-mentioned parcel is more particularly described and delineated in the said plan so deposited as aforesaid.

And notice is hereby further given that all persons whomsoever having any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, or either of them, for the purposes aforesaid and the execution of such works, shall set forth in writing any such well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and shall send such writing to the said Board, at the office of the said Board at South Rakaia aforesaid, addressed to the Clerk thereof, within forty days from the first publication of this notice.

And, lastly, notice is hereby further given that the plans and descriptions of the said lands, so required to be taken as aforesaid, are now open for inspection and can be inspected at the office of the said Board, at South Rakaia aforesaid.
