Boundaries of District Court District of Otago Gold
Fields altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The District Courts Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor from time to time, as he shall think fit, by
Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to con-
stitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof,
districts within which District Courts shall be re-
spectively held, and such districts to abolish, and the
boundaries thereof to define or alter:

And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the
eighth day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-four, a district was defined within which a
District Court should be held under the said Act,
and it was thereby declared that the said Court
should be designated by the name of "The District
Court of Otago Gold Fields:"

And whereas by Proclamations bearing date the
tenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-five, and the twenty-third day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and
the eighteenth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-eight, and the twenty-seventh day
of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight, the boundaries of the said district so defined
were altered:

And whereas it is expedient to further alter the
boundaries of the said district so defined and altered
as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Admin-
istrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
proclaim and declare that, from and after the first
day of September next, the boundaries of the district
within which the District Court of Otago Gold Fields
shall be held shall be altered, and that thenceforth
the boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries
hereinafter described.

OTAGO GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT COURT DISTRICT.

All that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
bounded towards the North by a right line from the
mouth of Awarua River, in Awarua Bay, to Mount
Aspiring; thence again towards the North and
towards the North-east by the Timaru and Oamaru
District Court District, as described in a Proclama-
tion of even date herewith, to Silver Peak; thence
towards the South-east by a right line to the source
of the Silver Stream, and along the said stream to
the West Taieri Road; thence by the said road to
the boundary of the Hundreds, and by the said
boundary of the Hundreds to the east branch of
the Tokomairiro River; thence by the said river to
the Main South Road, by the Main South Road to
Lovell's Creek; thence generally towards the South-
west by Lovell's Creek to the south-west boundary
of Run No. 54; thence by the said boundary of the
said run to the Crookburn, and by the Crookburn to
its junction with the Clutha River; thence by a right
line to a point 20 chains due west of the Clutha
River; thence towards the West by a line parallel
to the said river to a point due east of Spylaw Hill;
thence by a right line to the summit of Spylaw Hill;
thence by a right line to the source of the Spylaw
Burn; thence by the Spylaw Burn to its junction with
the Pomahaka River; thence by the Pomahaka River
to the confluence of the Parasol Creek; thence by
the said creek to its source, and by a right line:
thence to the summit of Black Umbrella Mountain;
thence by right lines from peak to peak along the
range between the western branch of the Waikaka
River and the Otama Creek to the southern boun-
dary of Run No. 193, and by that boundary to the
Mataura River; thence towards the West by the
Mataura River to its source, and by a right line to
Eyre Peak; and thence by right lines from peak to
peak along the western watershed of Lake Wakatipu
to a point due east of Mount Christina; thence by a
right line to the summit of Mount Christina, and by
a right line thence to the nearest source of the
Cleddau River, and by that river and the southern
shore of Milford Sound to the sea; and thence again
towards the West by the sea to the mouth of Awarua
River, the starting point: as the same is delineated
on the plans in the District Survey Office, Dunedin.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of August, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from-
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rura
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Taranaki did, on
the twentieth day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, pass a resolution recom-
mending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on de-
ferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Jus-
tice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Administrator
of the Government thereof, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set
apart for sale on deferred payments; and that
Wednesday, the eighteenth day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, shall be the
day on which the said land shall be open for appli-
cation, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the
selection map in the principal land office of the
district.

In pursuance of section four of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby declare
that subsection four of the sixty-third section of
"The Land Act, 1877," shall not apply to any of the
lands described in the Schedule hereto.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
